My Mother

I visited your grave today

to wish you all the best 

on your wedding anniversary

great years, oh you were blessed!

missing all your wisdom here

for I treasured all your love

but sadly God called you to him

and now you sit with him above

although you have left this world

I hold your memory in my heart

carrying on all that you taught me

I hope I can continue to play my part 

So on this November morning

I come to show you my respect

celebrating your special day

my mother, who to me, was perfect!!
