Sat here watching the world wake up

as each tiny bud peeps through

the cold dark soil all around

I can't help but think of you

finding I'm missing you more

for all the years we had together

and those adventures we went on

are the memories I will treasure

I miss your smile and laughter

the cheeky twinkle in your eye

why the angels came and took you

I'm just left here asking why?

still, I hold on to all we had

for with you there was no regret

as the happiness that you instilled

I will never ever forget!
