Mother, you were my soul mate
the one person I would turn to
all fairness and never a cross word
your kindness and wisdom shone through
I miss your gentle guidance
you were more than a friend to me
not forgetting your fab cooking
and chatting over a cup of tea
so today I want to thank you
for all the wonders you've sent my way
and tell the world how amazing you are
