Alphabetical verses are great fun to do,  I enjoyed playing around with words.
Why not give it ago.

Alcohol builds courage, dispelling everyday fears. Gin helps increase jittery kids loudly making nuisances of people`s quirkiness. Rum sends teachers upstairs very whimsically x-rating yonder zone!

This photo was from Orkney Uncovered and the poem uses the comments on this beautiful Highland Moo.  Written just for fun.

Highland Moo

She stands tall and very proud
a look of "you're next" on her face
aware of all thats around her
such a beautiful rustic  place

just want to give her a cuddle
a  fine beast of a cow that she be
watching from under her fringe
wondering what she can really see

barbed wire has become comfy wire
perfectly shaped in her winter coat
she`s put up highland decorations
this clever moo can seriously gloat

 Ding Dong Merrily on high!

🎀
ding
dong
merrily
on high let
the bells ring
for   everyone
proclaiming the
joys of this festive
 season let their chimes
full hearts with wondrous
cheer calling each one of us to
celebrate  all the wonders of this
time
of  the
year

Knock on my door if you dare!

                              Hi!
see
this beautiful
big round  orange  beast
carefully carved with a toothy grin
lit up brightly with a candle from it`s
hollowed out insides, lighting up ways to
scare people with Trick or Treat encounters.
Ghosts, Ghouls, Witches and spooky creatures
travelling from house to house to scare you
and others on this dark Halloween evening
Come  and knock on our door it you dare
what lies in wait to terrify you on this
spooky scary creepy night!

New Christmas shaped Verses for 2024

Tree Bauble

*****
*          *
 Nesting
amongst

the shiny needles
of the Christmas tree
caught in twinkling lights
bright coloured baubles hang
reflecting a world upsidedown
on the shiny smooth curved orbs
     along with stars, candles, ribbons
and long strands of sparkly tinsel
shimmering through  everything
they all decorate our lovely tree
these baubles  old memories
revisited each festive season
so enjoy these bright orbs
as they decorate the
Christmas tree

Autumn is a beautiful time of the year, filled with fiery colours as trees parade in their seasonal coats. Enjoy the colours, share in the harvest and prepare for winter with a full heart.

Hello Autumn

Autumn arrives in a blaze of colours
nights get colder and days get shorter
crispiness felt under foot in the morning
welcomes in the year`s fourth quarter

trees put on their multi colours coats
bright red, orange and yellow attire
dancing merrily in the afternoon breeze
swirling, twirling higher and higher

walking through this golden landscape
in autumn colours cocoon of silence
a feeling of warm flows over the soul
even after summer season`s absence

to be amongst these gorgeous colours
run through leaves in boots for no reason
laugh, smile and enjoy every moment
come, say "hello" to this colourful season

Jack O`Lantern

round face, orange face
staring out for me
carved face,  lit face
shining out at me
gruesome smile, cheeky eyes
candles lit I see
scary face, pumpkin head
My Jack O`Lantern be!

Met a scary witch!

I met a scary witch today
marching through the town
she wore stripy stockings
a crooked nose and a frown

she carried an old book of spells
along with a scrawny cat
a broomstick in her hand
and wearing her black pointed hat !

Lovely little name poem to welcome little Betty

Betty

Beautiful bright blue eyes
Endearing gurgles and smiles
Tiny fingers and petit toes
Tender memories to create
You fill our hearts with love and joy

Witches
Wonderful world of witchcraft
Incantations and spells
Toad`s poison and spider's webs
Cauldron brewing on the open fire
Haunting cackles can be heard
Ever ready to cast their spells
Spooky Halloween is here

Thought I would share this poem I wrote ten years ago.  I love walking though misty mornings, hearing different sounds before to I spy what made them.  The landscape comeing into view as I walk along.

Hope you like this one

Lissie

Through Misty Woods

When everything
just gets to me
there's this place
I escape to
along the path
through misty woods

Tall trees stand there
disappearing
into the mists
leading to peace
my haven there
through misty woods

Shadows abound
mysteries here
somewhere to hide
no one would know
here I can walk
through misty woods

These mossy trees
standing in line
leading me on
along the track
to my escape
through misty woods

As autumn arrives
trees dress in their finest coats
full of bright colours
they don`t need to compete
with each other
they just dance in the breeze
and enjoy autumn`s parade

Paw

Deep with my dreams
a paw reaches in
drawing me into the day

determined purrs heard
I slowly open my eyes
in a dreamy sort of way

nuzzling wet nose
pushes into my face
someone wants to play

hello sweet kitty
it`s times to get up
let have some fun today

Nature`s Mysteries

Nature is extraordinary
full of textures and colours
magical rainbow stone walls
shrouded in mists of intrigue
 surprises around each corner
taking your breathe away
this dark circular cavity
seen partway up a blue cliff
door way to a mysterious world
calling out to be explored
a journey to the unknown
is this real or an illusion?

Tasty Treat Time

Sat in the morning sunshine
beautiful bushy fluffed tail
held high with confidence
relaxing by a sturdy trunk
nibbling on his tasty nut
among the autumn leaves
not bothered by distractions
letting the world pass by
this squirrel enjoys his treat
