Knight Fight

Monsters from another world

chain mailed and masked in steel 

striding towards their enemy

how fearful do they feel?

with gauntlets for protection

leather and honoured colours

weaponry of swords and shields

distinguish the knight from others

with mighty clash of weapons 

and a blood curdling roar

let the battle take it`s course

amidst the sweat and valour

Unsupported!

Can`t take this any more

the injustice of the meek

when greedy authorities

stop the help people seek

disability is not a choice

for some, it`s away of life

means they strive to survive

through all this stressful strife

how are they to move forward
when they`re left to suffer alone
to find the door is tightly shut
and people slam down the phone

when will the government realise
that underdogs have the right
to live a meaningful existence
without battling this unfair fight!

Silence..... In the noisy, stressful and bustling age, we find ourselves always on the go. Racing around and chasing our goals. We never seem to stop for a moment! To be able to find ourselves, we should seek a quiet place, sit down, close our eyes and open our senses to our inner soul. Listen to the silence. This can help us to calm down, take stock and even find strength from deep within ourselves. To centre ourselves, helps us to take a step away from life`s mayhem … shut the door on the outside influences and stop everything around us. I find that doing this helps me to calm down, shut out the world and be myself. I find inspiration during these times. Silence speaks when words can`t … it`s up to us to listen and learn. What will your silence tell you ? Give it a go and find out …. Lissie

Chocolate Trophies

Chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs

filling the store shelves and our heads

brightly coloured and so inviting

these excitingly awesome spreads

there`s different surprises to behold

eyes open wide with the promise of fun

what will be inside these sweet eggs

kids can`t wait for the day to come

and on the morning they rush down stairs

to find their trophies of the day

with cardboard boxes all discarded

it`s chocolate heaven all the way.!

Mysteries of the Mists

through the misty morning haze

amongst the tall straight tree of the wood

mottled colours give an eerie presence
wondering if it`s hiding something good

shifting shadows through the mists
as movement seems to create change
vegetation appears out of the distance
making normal things appear strange

through the haze something different moves
steam rising up from its huge mass
with sheer beauty this lone bison walks
 this misty morning through trees and grass

for a creature this big, it moves silently
in between the tree trunks of this forest
watching it move off slowly into the distance
to leave it to its stroll was for the best

this was such an honour to encounter
a Bison an awesome, majestic creature
to find them in the misty morning light
good to know that all is well with nature!

Each day....

I see you struggle
deeply crushed
in this cancerous grip
growing weaker
day by day
your life force
draining from you

from deep within
a light shines
though dim
it burns defiantly
determined to exist
never giving up
this fight to live

Playful Angels

Oops my halo`s slipped again

I mustn`t take it off to play

Maybe I shouldn`t remove it at all

Angel`s image is to stay and pray

I have this desire to skip and jump

Hate being the silent helper too

Want to sing and make daisy chains

Why can`t I dance and play with you

The archangels calmly tell me off

They say I should be more demure

Respectful of the old traditions

But making children smile is best for sure

I`m sorry if I get it all wrong

Maybe one day I`ll live and learn

But until then we`ll  have some fun

Please give me a chance, don`t be too stern!!

Doggie Mischief

Its cold out there today

for autumn`s here to stay

wrapped up in mits and scarf

watching the children laugh

trees have all changed colours

leaves on ground like flowers

there`s a pile over there

leaves raked up in the square

there`s movement I can see

wonder what that could be

a pair of eyes stare out

I nearly gave a shout

is that a tail I spy

hiding all warm and dry

my little doggy friend

I`d better apprehend

before he wrecks the pile

though it would make me smile!

I love the autumn time

And now I`ll end my rhyme!!

Cosy Kitty

Snug as a bug in her bed

dreaming of having much fun

curled up in a little ball

until the morning sun

so cosy in her new bed

soft and gentle against fur

listening to kitty purring

wanting to stay close to her

sleep well my little kitty

dream on in slumber land

then awake well refreshed

knowing she has nothing planned
