Tear Drop
from a single tear drop of passion
falling slowly with each painful emotion
hitting the surface of the water
a tiny speck in this huge ocean
as each drop hits the clear surface
causing a massive disturbance
forming ever increasing circle
that`s bitter with each occurrence
each ripple moves slowly away
taking the pain from this sad moment
releasing the tension as they go
leaving just a glimpse of movement !

Tranquil Waters
water calms and cleanses the soul
Tranquil Waters
Waters of tranquillity
sharing colours of peace
ebbing and flowing
undulating back and forth
lapping the rugged rocks
carved by wind and ocean
blue and purple hues
reflections of the sky
rich sounds sooth the soul
calming the spirit
easing away all the stress
as relaxation flows
right through the body
like gentle currents
sparkling waters
mirroring the sun
these wonderful waters blue
draw you in to their spell
calmly mesmerising
as they wash over the rocks
taking you with them
into their deep dark depths
where you can remain
peaceful and tranquil

big eyes focused
pleading for attention
beautifully alert
sheer perfection
whiskers all static
sensing what`s all around
feeling the atmosphere
yet never making a sound
an elegant creature
with soft silky fur
that`s so gentle to touch
as I listen to you purr
face so attentive
with a purr and a meow
with a loving look
that says, I love you
that says, I love you

Ho Ho Ho!
Ho, Ho, Ho !!
As snow lay on the ground
foot prints scattered everywhere
while throngs of shoppers
search for some Christmas fare
bright lights and cheery music
excitement for the festivities
children`s laughter could be heard
as they pursued fun activities
loud Ho Ho Ho`s were then heard
followed by a jolly man in red
for Father Christmas has arrived
with many gifts upon his sled.
once enthroned in his grotto
handing out gifts to everyone
as he calls children to his side
until his work is almost done
then with a farewell Ho Ho Ho !
Father Christmas rides away
leaving happy children in his wake
wishing all a great Christmas Day !

Death of a Rose
Death of a Rose
Cold, cold heart of death
laying on the hard ground
exposed to the element
never making a sound
no plea for assistance
or demands to be warmed
for this frozen rose
remains there fully formed
its rich velvety petals
red against the grey stones
stands out so vividly
but decay will change these tones
decorated with droplets
of fine powdery snow
this once beautiful rose
remains there still aglow
in its dying moments
its scent lingers on
frozen in time now
until the following dawn!

amongst
the shiny needles
of the Christmas tree
caught in twinkling lights
bright coloured baubles hang
reflecting a world upsidedown
on the shiny smooth curved orbs
along with stars, candles, ribbons
and long strands of sparkly tinsel
shimmering through everything
they all decorate our lovely tree
these baubles hold memories
revisited each festive season
so enjoy these bright orbs
as they decorate the
Christmas tree

Standing
All alone
Proudly in the garden
Coal for eyes
Carrot for a nose
Pipe in his mouth
Smiling happily
All watchful
In a white landscape
Red scarf around his neck
Black buttons down his front
Twigs sticking out for the arms
Looking so smart standing here
Amongst all this wintry scenery
Watching out for Father Christmas
So then he can go join his friends
At the festive season celebrations
For our winter wonderland guard

star
upon
the top
of our tree
shining brightly
a gift for our world
lighting up this merry Christmas season of cheer
sparkling brightly with the many decorations
coloured tinsel, baubles, twinkling lights
bringing great joy to the festivities
this little star shines out with joy
proclaiming good will to men
with powdery snow falling
the fire side so warming

bright sparkling lights that flash
our beautifully tall festive tree
not forgetting all the chocolate Santas
at the bottom there are many different presents
some small little packages and others large and lumpy
all so brightly wrapped with ribbons and bows
casting shadows where the cat could go and hide
wondering if she will sniff out her present before the day
each family has its own traditions when celebrating Christmas
so let us all
give thanks

Stormy Times Ahead
I remember the storms in the winter when I was a child, we all stayed warm as my parents were prepared for them. There was always food and a warm bed. I was looking through some photos and so glad we don`t have to go through those again. They were fun times though

batten down the hatches
stock up the cupboards
then seal all the latches
cold winds blowing
snow is coming
hard rain lashing
stormy times ahead
Block up the doorways
check all windows as well
logs ready for the fire
this`ll be the storm from hell
windows rattling
snow is pitching
Rivers swirling
stormy times ahead
huddled near the fire place
winds howling all around
settled in for the duration
as the storm hits the ground
winds so freezing
snow now falling
fireside blazing
stormy times are here !

snow lays deep outside the wooden door
gusts of wind rattles the windows
a wee fire warms the vestry
a lit candle dimly shines
breath seen in the air

snow lays deep outside the wooden door
a little fire tries to warm up the room
while wind whistles through the cracks
a tiny mouse hides in the gloom
single candle perched on the windowsill
dimly lights a large bible on the table
while the old priest studies the texts
this winter will be cold and miserable
in a corner hangs a threadbare stocking
just in case Father Christmas comes to visit
the little mouse moves towards the fireside
pausing for a moment by the little trivet
near the fire, he slowly starts to warm up
silence broken by a foot step and keys
he finds a little festive gift from Santa
Merry Christmas and thanks for the cheese!

Ocean`s Partner
the gentle touch of water
caressing my whole face
waves gently moving
across the ocean`s surface
cold to touch, yet warming
empowering my heart
seas of the world so close
to leave would rip me apart
let the winds whip my hair
in every direct of the dance
stirring up many emotions
