Playful Angels

Oops my halo`s slipped again

I mustn`t take it off to play

Maybe I shouldn`t remove it at all

Angel`s image is to stay and pray

I have this desire to skip and jump

Hate being the silent helper too

Want to sing and make daisy chains

Why can`t I dance and play with you

The archangels calmly tell me off

They say I should be more demure

Respectful of the old traditions

But making children smile is best for sure

I`m sorry if I get it all wrong

Maybe one day I`ll live and learn

But until then we`ll  have some fun

Please give me a chance, don`t be too stern!!

Chocolate Trophies

Chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs

filling the store shelves and our heads

brightly coloured and so inviting

these excitingly awesome spreads

there`s different surprises to behold

eyes open wide with the promise of fun

what will be inside these sweet eggs

kids can`t wait for the day to come

and on the morning they rush down stairs

to find their trophies of the day

with cardboard boxes all discarded

it`s chocolate heaven all the way.!

our outlook on life must change

Uncertain Times

through silent lifeless streets
there`s a feeling of despair
sickness leaves an awful smell
fear is hiding everywhere

families in social isolation
together both young and old

from behind closed doors

terror rules each household

"everyone keep your distance"

and always "wash you hands"

never to forget these phrases

hope everyone understands

we`re in this for the long run
uniting local communities
helping and volunteering 
while building up immunities

remember to stay in our homes
it`s the best way forward for us
and follow the Gov`s instructions
for we will beat this terrible virus!

this secret place up high

amid the tall roof tops 

haven from the bustle

Life`s Paint Brush

Long soft bristles ready to be dipped

in many different colours of the pallet

painting all of nature around us

from blue oceans to high rocks of granite

as each stroke dances across the world

bringing to life many layers of creation

and brightening up our Mother Earth

through wide valleys to each small location

delicate butterfly wings that flutter

perfumed flowers exploding into bloom

life`s paint brush dances where it wishes

creating everything to fill nature`s room!
