Liquid Black

Black oily slickness
shimmering in the light
ebbing back and forth
under the moon so bright

patches of colours
momentarily seen
amid the blackness
adds mystery to the sheen

soft lapping sounds heard
through the ebb and flow
where will this lead
I`m sure I don`t know

Spring time, when Mother Earth wakes up.

Spring Time

Blossom scent in the air
sweet smelling tulips
frog`s spawn in the pond
all signs that spring is here
bluebells and caterpillars
the gardens come to life
longer days and shorter nights
sitting out in the afternoon sun
listening to the bird calls
watching my cats play
relaxing in the sunshine
enjoying this spring time!

Lillesden School

Dark gothic buildings with fire escapes
stood looking over green luscious land
an education establishment
found in the Garden of England

at the end of a long winding drive way
appearing there, so proud and so strong
turrets standing out against the skyline
there to remember, your whole life long

laughter was heard through the corridors
sounding like ghosts from a former time
pupils from everywhere through the years
when Lillesden was in it`s prime

eerie silence now found throughout the school
dust collecting on every surface
echoing footsteps on the wooden floors
empty rooms without any purpose

now that it`s stripped of all it`s glory
classrooms all choked with vegetation
even the lead from the roof has gone
is there nothing safe at this location

there`s one thing to be said for all this
Lillesden School was the best place to be
we may not have a school to visit
but we`ve memories and friends to see.

Memories of Summers Past

Sparkling sunlight, fluffy feathers
a swish of breeze in sunny weathers

song birds singing in branches up high
blue skies, bright sun, oh for a gentle sigh

strawberries and cream served with lemonade
sat on a picnic blanket in the cooling shade

children running, laughing all around
playing hide and seek until they`re found

shapes in the clouds or making daisy chains
and watching the trails made by aeroplanes

these are memories I hold so dear
wonderful summer times from yesteryear!

Statuesque Raven

 Guardian of his territory
this raven surveys all around
sitting high on a standing stone
so distinctive above the ground

as the weather closes in, he listens
silhouetted against skies of grey
frozen, he mimics a stone statue
this great bird searches for it`s prey

Nursery Rhyme Land

The Party

The owl and the pussy cat went to sea
they borrowed a yacht from the King of Hearts
dear Jack Horner happily took the helm
Doctor Foster was eager to read the charts

so they partied with all of their friends
and had an awesome time on board...
Miss Muffet served food, Mother Goose the drinks
as the dish and the spoon played a record

Humpty Dumpty danced with Little Bo Peep
the Three Blind mice sang their favourite song
as the moon came up Cow wanted to play
so she teased the Twinkling Stars all night long!

the old king of Hearts was very upset
when he found his yacht had gone to sea
he called his Queen, then sent out his guards
he didn`t want to miss out on a party!

with everyone now safely aboard
they partied on throughout the night
dancing away to the light of the moon
in Nursery Rhyme land, what a sight !!

Just for fun!

Nursery Rhyme Land

There`s a hole in my bucket
I knew it wasn't there before
on my way with Jack up the hill
to fetch some water, t`was our chore!

Miss Muffet was going to join us
but she was scared off by the spider
will miss eating her curds and whey...
she`s gone to the pub for cider

so we met up with the three pigs
as the wolf had destroyed their homes
walked to market for a new bucket
then had tea with our friends the Gnomes

Humpty Dumpty was feeling ill
he had fallen into a swoon
so we sent Puss In Boots to see
and he gave him a dish and spoon

Goldilocks was feeling lonely
the bears were away in Hong Kong
so later that night we all met up
and had a great big sing a long!

Steel Dinosaurs

Seen against a sunset back drop
standing tall above the harbour
dinosaurs from a bygone era
reflected in these rippling waters
cold hard steel dark against the sky
like robots working the cargoes
of the great tall wooden ships
that sailed the world's seven seas!
this industrial area
stands as a testimony to time
of health, wealth and prosperity
this place was once a mighty town

Monkey Puzzle

with thick sharp spiky leaves
growing in many directions
catching all that passes by
strong determined projections

this plant grows its own way
a garden`s curiosity
harbouring little insects
never showing any modesty

take care when near this beast
the sharp leaves will catch you
so beautifully sculptures
that`ll be there the whole year through

Springtime

a song heard on the breeze
scent of petals in the air
warm afternoon sunshine felt
for spring is everywhere

the bumble bees are buzzing
between many scented flowers
busily collecting their pollen
for many hours and hours

for the music of springtime
such a stimulating symphony
Mother nature at her best
an orchestra of sheer beauty

 Spring is in the Air!

Look to the future
smile and you will see
that every is waking up
and life is full of glee

winter time is over
there's so much to be done
be out in the sun shine
smile and have some fun

joy to behold again
children's laughter is heard
they're racing round the garden
chasing butterflies, how absurd!

skipping through the grasses
splashing in the puddles
cats prowling and dogs barking
we're smiling cos mum's in a muddle!

sunshine in their eyes
a spring in their pace
full of the joys of spring
bright smile upon their face

the thrills of the season
will bring you loads of fun
with laughter and sunshine
peace and love to everyone!

Proud to call her Mother!

My mother was one of the best
she really took good care of me
always had a smile to share
a plaster when I scrapped my knee

she woke me up in the mornings
gave a big hug last thing at night
let me learn through my mistakes
and her advice was always right

enjoyed the help she gave me then
and miss her wisdom now she`s gone
problem shared, was a problem halved
was the best advice she passed on

taking in all she has told me
I understand motherhood much more
the joys of passing on her love
has helped me cope better, for sure!

I miss sharing a cuppa with her
after a long arduous time through traffic
walking around the garden together
discussing the latest topic

Mother, you were one of the best
I`m proud the celebrate this day
giving thanks for all you`ve done
loving you more each and every way!

Chutterley

Charismatic cat of our neighbourhood
Happy to snuggle up on a lap for a cuddle
Usually out and about checking her territory
Taken to soaking up the afternoon sunshine
Tree climbing,  chasing toys, padding soft jumpers
Exterminator of mice and presenting them to dad
Rumbustious, playful and loves being smoothed
Long fluffy black coat, that needs lots of grooming
Ever a huge part of our family, loved by us all
Yawning widely before curling up on clean linen

Easter Egg Hunt

Easter eggs wrapped up in foil
shiny, colourful and bright
secretly hidden for you to find
tucked away out of sight

so off you go and hunt for them
see how many can be found
collect all them in a basket
then share the eggs all around !

Spring

Spring only arrives
when the cherry trees blossom
turning our world pink
so, bringing joy to our hearts
bright laughter heard all around

An tEarrach

Ní thagann an t-earrach ach
nuair a bhláthaíonn na crainn silíní
ag casadh ár saol bándearg
mar sin, ag tabhairt áthas dár gcroí
gáire geal le cloisteáil timpeall

Pink Snow

pink snow falling softly
hovering slowly in the air
silently drifting to the ground
covering all with out a care

with soft sweet scent about
filling the atmosphere
Mother natures is stirring
spring time must be here

bees buzzing amongst flowers
collecting nectar for their hive
as the air is filled with pollen
everything feels so alive

for spring, glorious spring
has arrived at last
pink snow followed by fruit
nature is full of contrast

Bournemouth

Beautifully kept beach, seven miles of gorgeous golden sands
Oceanarium, fun filled experience from reef sharks to feeding turtles
Ultimate experience and great views from the Bournemouth Big Wheel
Reputation as a health resort and one of the sunny spots in the UK
New Forest, is an outstanding area to roam and explore among the ponies
Every year over 750,000 ice creams of many different flavours are sold
Most loved colourful beach huts along the sea front are highly prized
Old Harry Rocks, chalky headland stretching out into the sea
Used to be barren heathland for pirate smugglers until the 19th century
Thanks to its consistent waves and sandy beach, it`s a great place to surf
Hundred and fifty years old pier with great entertainment and sea views
