To my Children

I dream of who you might become

the talents you will acquire

where you go throughout your life

will you get all that you desire

I wonder what the future holds

will you be an artist or a scholar

live an energetic existence

maybe even receive an honour

I hope that you will find true love

grow up to be wise and healthy

will you travel to distant shores

explore, learn and even wealthy

I know one thing for certain

I`ve given you all I have to build on

may you be strong and have a good life

so, go out there, live, love and have fun!

Somewhere special for our family

Making memories to last forever

Our little haven in the city

Undeniably a musical place

Simply a comfy place to be

Coronation Day

The scene is set for a spectacular day

sharing such an historical occasion

of the coronation of King Charles

witnessed by a new generation

a day filled with pomp and ceremony

 a golden carriage and pageantry 

Westminster Abbey was the setting

robes, crowns and plenty gallantry 

four thousand armed force parade

culminating with a balcony view

as we start the reign of a new king

London covered in red, white and blue

This day will always be remembered

diversity pf music and voices heard

history has been made upon this day

Congratulations to King Charles III

Thunderous Steam

Steaming through the wintry light

powering along steel tracks

puffing out a trail of smoke

travelling along to the max

Chugging past the countryside

as evening begins to set in

billowing clouds of black smoke

with it`s bright lantern shinin`!

Storming round this mighty curve

and thundering along the rails

feeling the movement under foot

just showing it`s size and scale

This awesome beast of the steam age

reminds us of times gone by

and to see the trains still working

so pleasing to the soul and eye

The sheer power of this steam train

blasting it`s way over this land

long may this relic from the past

show us that travel can be grand..!

I wrote this poem for a friend, he is a businessman who flies and works hard and plays hard.. he loved his poem...thankfully !!

The Flying Businessman

Pete the flying businessman

soaring through the skies

paraffin Pete in his Cessna

every journey`s a surprise.

living in Cirencester

giving life a loving call

working hard in Switchgears

instrumentations and all.

Pete has his claim to fame though

he schooled with our PM

learning with D Cameron

wow!, are they buddies, then?

as Pete works hard and fast

his leisure time he needs

polo with its` chukkas

and pool, where he succeeds

paraffin Pete, the flier

who always has a smile

say "Hi " if you meet him

our businessman with style.
