Fishing

With all your gear, bait, rods and waders
 off to the river bank you go

all set up, it`s time to cast

patience is what`s needed

will the fish respond?

watching the float

will they bite?

Angel Mother

Thinking of you Mother

especially on this Sunday

though you have angel wings

we will walk together today

you gave me all I needed

love, kindness, wisdom, care

through every stage of my life

 you were always there

on this Mothering Sunday 

let`s celebrate with cheer

and miss you more each year!

Where are you?

Feeling very alone in a world of people

there`s a glass wall surrounding me

where a partner was once, nothing remains

just an empty space, marooned upon a sea

there is only a ghost, a feeling, a memory

photos of good times, where are you now?

family has moved on to live their own lives

how do I move on, I don`t have the knowhow

to smile, laugh or love again feels so wrong

you have your wings and freedom from pain

you're on my mind and in my heart every day 

but all I want is to hug you tightly once again

my love, my soulmate, where are you now?

Happy 64th Birthday Steve 

My dearest Steve

Always on my mind each day

 your laughter and cheeky smile

create many great memories

I`ve held onto all this while

 can`t believe how times pass by
each time I visit your grave

leaving flowers and a poem
I know I must remain brave

here to celebrate your birthday

I send love on an angel`s feather
remembering what we achieved
I can hold onto and treasure

Peace

Sitting quietly in the light of dusk

I am totally at peace with myself

I feel free from the misery of the day

as night wraps me in his loving arms

while slowly the light of day fades 

sounds all around seem muted 

you`re there, I feel your presence

sit here beside me and hold me

sadly this is but a few quiet moments

to spend time together - in my minds eye, 

watching bright dancing stars above

as I feeling completely at peace tonight

Jack and the Beanstalk

You`ve heard of "Jack and the Beanstalk"

I`m sorry to say he not really that kind

for Jack was a greedy and nasty man

who disliked everyone and spoke his mind

he went to market to sell the family cow

brought back some coloured magic bean

it grow into a very thick beanstalk

creating such a jaw dropping scene!

treasures were to be found at the top

including gold, silver and jewels galore

but sadly guarded by a fierce giant

stamping around with a great big roar!

so up Jack went to find his fortune

thinking of holidays, cars and glory

stuffing pockets with all he could see

maybe a wife but that`s another story

when back on the ground, he took an axe

with a great swing, he chopped down the bean

Jack took all his loot, popped it in the boot

and drove off into a distant sunnier scene

Cuddling up with you my dear
Unique to all our needs
Diving into your loving arms
Don`t ever turn me away
Longing to hear your heart beat
Every cuddle`s so special
Snuggled up beside you..!

our sweet little tuxedo cat

basking in afternoon sun

watching buzzing bumble bees

planning some mischievous fun

totally relaxed under the apple tree

as it blossoms, scent filling the air

blue tits and butterflies fly by

as Jay chutters with flair

snoozing in the warmth of spring

ruffled fur tummy all exposed

tail gently twitching in the breeze

what do you dream of, as you doze

sleep on sweet little tuxedo cat

under skies of clear bright blue

follow your dreams without a care

in the knowledge that we all love you!
