remembering your jovial laugh

and your bright beaming smile

you were the light of my life

your sense of humour had style

reading your morning paper

with your cup of tea near by

one cat spread out on your lap

the other strolls past to say Hi!

eagerly packing your fishing gear

not forgetting thermos and lunch

boots, waders, nets and your hat

you and the lads were a merry bunch

these memories I hold so dear

they are locked safe within my heart

for as long as I can remember you

we will never really be apart

Jungle

Deep down in the jungle

there's a rumble to be heard

the animals are gathering

for the old king has stirred

zebras, elephants and monkeys

are preparing the celebrations

it`s the Kings of the Jungle`s birthday

come, join in their congratulations

Flower Moon 

Spring brings us the Flower Moon

just as winter becomes spring

sitting low on the horizon by day

a lunar eclipse it was bring

large mystical orb so wondrous

red-orange spectacle in the sky

earth is waking up after winter

so pleasing to the heart and eye

signifies weather is changing

warmer days, summers is near

colourful flowers are in bloom

a wonderful time of the year

enjoy this moment in all it`s glory

to see this transformation

Unexpected homes

 

amazing unexpected homes

dry stone walls full of texture

to concrete covered in lichen 

each curve creates a structure

each silk strand is placed with care 

forming a structure of sheer beauty

fragile to the eye  but full of strength

to construct one is a daily duty

utilizing all nooks and crannies

with such a clever dexterity

building beautiful creations

who knew they had this ability

Bright colourful bundles of sweet scent

blossoming throughout our gardens

from pansies to forget-me-nots

creates tranquil moments

calms our stressful lives

Sweet Dreams

After a hard day playing

it`s time for you to sleep

off to where you can dream

all comfy on the sofa

curled up snug and warm

thinking of tasty cream

you look so soft and fluffy

in the refection of the moon

whiskers caught in its light

purrfect as you sleep

sweet dreams little one

slumber on through the night
