Awaken

A gentle touch of sunlight
crept across and kisses my cheek
so soft I barely felt it
a soothing caress so meek

with loving murmurs in my ear
I'm told it`s time to wake
stirring slowly from my sleep
want this moment as a keepsake

I greet the sun with a smile
as I welcome in the morn
gently opening my eyes
my room is filled with the dawn

Good Morning Mr Frog!

In a quiet spot down the garden

half submerged amid the weeds

a little green nose and bulbus eyes

peeping through the tall reeds

patiently, he sits and watches

all who come close by his home

this little silent amphibian 

from his patch, he doesn`t roam

dipping down below the surface

wonder where he`ll pop up again?

such a handsome little fella, Mr Frog

lording over his perfect domain.

Painted Skies

painting the world in gold and orange

black silhouettes depicted so clear

as the sun starts to descend on it`s night path

for the horizon`s ablaze from the red hot sphere

rippling waters mirrored across the sky

as elegant swans float over the surface

dark veiled clouds scattered above this great orb

a celestial star that has great purpose 

our giver of life force from the universe

that appears from the east and sets in the west

painting our world in wonderful colours

this majestic sun, we are so blessed!

Precious moments....

ever had a moment

that took you by surprise

set your heart a beating

and opened up your eyes?

felt completely in awe

from such a wondrous sight

warm cosy feelings

when all snuggled up tight

love all these sensations

and to hear the laughter

puts a smile on your face

happy ever after!

The Flying Businessman

Pete the flying businessman

soaring through the skies

Paraffin Pete in his Cessna

every journey`s a surprise

living in Cirencester

giving life a positive call

working hard in Switchgears

instrumentations and all.

Pete has his claim to fame though

he schooled with our PM

learning with D Cameron

Wow!, are they buddies, then?

as Pete works hard and fast

his leisure time he needs

polo with its` chukkas

and pool, where he succeeds

Paraffin Pete, the flier

who always has a smile

say "Hi " if you meet him

our businessman with style.

Stormy Weather

with dark foreboding skies over head

the storm is not that far away

low black clouds rolling in

rumblings of thunder

rain is on the way

so take cover

by the fire

and stay

safe

Bombylius Major (Beefly)

This bee like insect

with stout hairy body

it`s long proboscis

seeking out some nectar 

hovers over flowers

 working hard to stay still

delicately veined wings

shimmering in the light

it`s ability to mimic

the humble bumble bee

is an amazing

feat of earth`s nature

with large compound eyes

helps it to see well

it`s long skinny legs

dangle while in flight

revealing that this bee

is a fly in disguise

Mr Bumble Bee

Loud buzzings announces
there is a bumble bee about
visiting from flower to flower
collecting the pollen while out

his big fat striped body
held high on stubby wings
buzzing around everywhere
following directions from one that sings

love to hear him as he goes
its a sign that summers here
pollinating the fruit trees
I salute him with a cheer!
