Tiny Feet

Tiny feet that mean so much
to hold gently and to care for
love and tenderly caress
encourage along life`s way
surround and then enclose
in protection, keep them safe
care for them and heal them
from danger and harms hurts
watch them grow and develop
show them independence
let them go without a tear
no more soft cotton wool
good and healthy. fit and strong
all the love to live life through.

 January Sales!!

Christmas has now been and gone
decorations have come down
the last angels` been boxes up
with the shiny golden crown

after all the celebrations
the house is looking very bare
for all the sparkling tinsel
has now gone until next year

all the seasonal humour
has been replayed with the sales
rushing round the town centre
grabbing clothes from the shop rails

where there was once peace and love
sheer warfare is found throughout
festive music`s been replaced
with boisterous women that shout

I hate the start of the sales
crowds racing around the shops
buying up all the bargains
shoes and consorts, games and tops

but by the end of the day
the shop floor has been wiped clean
these sales bring out the madness
in every bargain king and queen!

Another round of sales has begun..... lol!!

As Christmas draws to an end now
      and celebrations are almost over
memories are held tightly in my soul
for when I take up my pen and write again
releasing the power of my ink across the page !

Winter Fairy

As the winter Fairy stands
surveying her wintry horizon
snowflakes spin in the bitter breeze
for Jack Frost's dance has begun

a sparkle in her bright blue eyes
wrapped up in her warm red cape
through the grayness of the storm
she watches over the landscape

as winds ruffle frozen branches
singing their soulful lullaby
her smile lights up this cold season
for winter fairy is here to stay

Reflections of life

My Life is painted in words and pictures
each part of it`s a chapter
no matter what I say or do
every event plays a major factor

for what I see in front of me

will affect it in different ways
the good times and the bad ones
depending how I manage my days

I may see things quite differently

and that is good and right
for if we were the same as others
who would help me with my fight?

as I grow older, so life changes

I learn from my mistakes
so when new challenges arise
I strike and claim my stakes.

in my twilight years, I`ll reflect
looking back upon what I've done
writing the last chapter as I go
my life has been full of love and fun!

Just a little reflection on life in general.

Plain and simple

Paper Memories

Words that form great books
each sentence so neatly penned
starting at its beginning
not knowing where it will end

entering a different world
new adventures to explore
for time and space`s no problem
experiencing more and more

stories found from deep within
exploding onto crisp papers
building memories for me
of bygone years and capers

the past brought alive again
characters that seem so real
thus plunging me back in time
adventures that alwasys appeal

never judge a book by it`s cover
instead, flip through and you`ll be
be taken on a journey
where you can roam and be free!

Christmas Season!

Its a joy to walk along the street
and wonder at all the festive lights
twinkly colours flash through the windows
brightening up these cold wintry nights

Christmas trees dressed in baubles and tinsel
tiny lights flickering for all to see
roaring log fire to keep the house warm
all enjoying the festivity

Late night shoppers hurry back home
past the displays to Christmas cheer
cascades of lights fall like snowflakes
soon to change with sales in the new year

So hurrying back to a warm home
the family all gathered around
a time to be all together
                                                         Christmas celebrations abound.

Christmas is coming..

Good morning to you all
hope you're refreshed from last night
dreamed the dreams of love and peace
ready to cope with today's fight

so much to do before the day
lots of chores and running around
preparations and cooking
Christmas Cheers all abound

secrets and sweet laughter
as plotting and plans are done
I'm sure all will be worth it, for
Christmas time is so much fun !

Wishing you a Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everybody
it`s the season to be jolly

homes all decorated brightly
while the snow is falling lightly

fires ablaze with warmth so cosy
toasty feet and cheeks all rosy

wrapped presents waiting quietly
while all kids sleep on contently

soon peace will be a memory
as the house is filled with energy

so all that left for me to say...
wishing you a great Christmas day!

This is the poem I wrote for my husband this Christmas
I placed it on his grave .....
Merry Christmas Steve..

I walk around the house
and feel your presence here
although you're with the angels,
I know that you are near

when Christmas time approaches
there's laughter to be heard
recalling all the good times
as memories are stirred

you may not be beside me
but you`re in me heart and soul
guiding me on through my life
and helping me to feel whole

at this special time of year
I visit your grave to say
how much I love and miss you
even more on Christmas Day!

Love and miss you always Steve xXx

Together

To watch you as you sleep
feel a great need to protect
as you breathe slow and steady
looking handsomely perfect

your hair spread across pillow
as you rest after a busy day
your face relaxed in slumber
letting the tension slip away

to know you're here beside me
so comforting to the soul
a union betwix us is so strong
for united we are whole

so as I lay here next to you
feeling your warmth through the night
listening to your steady breathe
our time together is right

As the evening darkness approaches
it's time to lay down my pen for the night
for these images that dance around my heart
I'll take to bed with me and dream
and in the morning paint them through my words...!

Cat amongst the crib

I don`t mean to be disrespectful
but this spot is very comfortable

snuggled among these little creatures
even though they`re Christmas features

I really hoped you wouldn't see me
after the problems with last year tree

so I`m here to guard baby Jesus
until he`s big enough to protect us !

Sipping hot chocolate at the end of the day
my pen lays silently by my notepad

Lonely heartbreak

There's a hole in my heart
where once your love was found
filling my whole life with joy
now nothing, not even a sound

silence and loneliness
are my companions now
trusting another will take time
feel uneasy to allow

when you were taken from me
my soul died in your wake
for your death came too early
not fair for heaven's sake!

now I walk all by myself
this road's a lonely way
so tortuous, and yet I know
we will meet again some day!

filling my heart with pride

you still walk by my side

The excitement of this festive season
enthuses my pen with the power to express
all the emotions stored in my memories
letting them race happily across the paper
oh how delightful these pictures of words make me feel....!

Christmas Season

Christmas time is here once again
It`s that wonderful time of year
secrets, surprises and presents
brings much merriment and cheer

the Christmas tree is looking good
now decorated and lights lit
the presents bought and all wrapped up
radio`s playing the latest hit!

the festive season is really here
cards and goodwill are all around
mistletoe hangs over the door
there`s laughter and joy abound

it`s great for all to come together
to be with friends and family
Christmas is a time for giving
sharing presents under the tree

so the message for this Christmas
that we should show some love and care
be kind and gentle to one another
it`s always good to give and share.

Merry Christmas to you all !!

I was asked to write a poem about this little rescued dog call Roger.
This is his story and some pictures of him.
Hope you like the poem.

Baby Roger is a 9 month old German Shepherd puppy who was rescued by the awesome folks at Oswego Animal Shelter, Oswego, NY. He was found running down a rural country highway on Easter Sunday night scared, severely emaciated with a choke collar embedded around his neck. He has severe damage to his nose, mouth & jaw from something tied around it for an extended period of time. He was brought to the shelter with a high fever & numerous other injuries. Baby Roger is extremely small for a puppy his age due to the lack of food & nutrition. He is going to need facial reconstruction surgery, in addition to long term care. He has progressing lameness in his hip & rear legs which is being monitored.  Roger has suffered severe emotional trauma which requires extensive specialized training & rehabilitation. Baby Roger will also receive stem cell therapy from Mobile StemCare

Baby Roger

A sad little puppy
was found on Easter night
weak, abused and scared
it was such an awful sight !

kindly taken in to care
under the wing of hope
given his own name,  Roger
with his injuries, would he cope?

so young at nine months
he was treated really bad
damaged nose, mouth and jaw
such a sorry start he`d had

hip and rear leg lameness
facial surgery needed
his journey will be long
but his call had been heeded

Roger`s future will be hard
but through much love and care
his future holds great hope
with this little Christmas prayer.

Eternal Love

A red rose for you my love
to show how much I care
From a tiny little bud
peeping through the mists of time
Growing slowly with each day
as tender love is shown
Fed with kindness
as the petals start to open
Pure beauty is seen inside
promising much treasure
Through the sun light
releasing such a sweet fragrance
The flower opens completely
Such an awesome sight
Expressing my love
in this rich red rose
My eternal love
I love you

A rose can say so much more than
I love you!

Misty Morn

On this cold and frosty morn
with the clouds riding so low
an eerie mist lingers late
sun struggling to glow

A frosty start to this dull morn
as pale mist loiters in hollows
for winter has now appeared
setting tones for our tomorrows

Like a foaming sea rolling through
this cold, damp cloud rumbles in
weaving its way amongst buildings
whilst the sky begins to brighten

Our world wrapped up in a blanket
half submerged within thick grey mist
lingering for many an hour
wintry scene that seems to persist

So as the coldest season starts
this bleak weather is here to stay
thus wrap up warm before you go
and make the most of a wintry day

Snow before the storm

Silence is broken
by the whisper of
soft sculptured snowflakes

as noise is muffled
under the slow tread
of feet across the ground

sky heavy with snow
hanging over the land
all quiet before the storm

with paw prints running
across the deep snow mounds
found under the hanging boughs

a hush has descended
over all this landscape
waiting for the storm to arrive

so as the sun sets
and the moon shines down
across this silent countryside !

Home Comings....

Love my greetings when I get home
a wagging tail and wet nosed kiss
big soppy eyes looking up at me
an evening of cuddles, what bliss

treats and play time are great fun
then snuggled up together
she's always so affectionate
my doggy best friend for ever

well my little Angel
watched over through the night
may your dreams be beautiful
as you wander through scented pastures
under white fluffy clouds
all tranquil and peaceful.......

Grave Yard

an eerie place,
the grave yard
ghosts walk by night
visiting their friends
scaring off the living
it is an awesome sight...

the massive yew tree
hides the moon from sight
mist swirls all around
there`s a chill in the air
and a howl in the breeze
it`s such a sad sound....

slanted head stones
covered in thick moss
hidden in the shade
watch over by an owl
screeching through the night
until the moon doth fade

the departed rest
in this grave yard here
for eternity
this eerie place
an interesting spot
it holds no fears for me
