Good morning ✨

We`ve made it through to the end of another year, and what a year it has been too.  It`s had it`s high and definitely it lows, but I have certainly learn for all these experiences.

I`d like to thank everyone who has supported me throughout 2023 by following, liking, sharing and even purchasing from me.

It`s been great to get to know lots of lovely and friendly small business owners and support you all too.

Even though I was diagnosed with anxiety, I have been determined to carry on writing and making my Friendship Bears and I have certainly  been through some dark days, however there has always been someone there to lift my spirits and help me back on my path. I have so grateful to all of you for that support.  On this day, let remember all the positive events that have happened throughout this year and move forward to 2024 with joy, hope, determination and a positive heart.

Wishing you all a lovely Sunday (New Year`s Eve) filled with happiness for tomorrow is the first blank page of a 366 page book.  let`s write a great one  ❤️💚🤍

Wintry Sun

Silence as felt in the still place
with snow muffling any sound
trees silhouetted by the sun
a scene that sparkles all around

dark boughs fringed by shining twigs
looking like a shimmering white beard
sun light flashes brightly through
such an awesome sight, as it`s cleared

clear bright blue skies above this scene
with a layer of snow everywhere
the sun like a spot light shining
illuminating these trees with care

this image is a moment in time
a winter postcard looking grand
bright sun shine shimmering on snow
creating a magic wonderland

True Christmas

On Christmas eve it was so cold
like it was all those years before
as a couple tried to find a room
but they're only offered a stable floor

amongst the hay and ox and ass
the saviour of the world was born
laid in a manger warm and safe
watched over by Mary, `til the morn

there were shepherds in the field
all guarding their flock by night
when a heavenly host appeared
telling them of the child, with delight

leaving to visit the baby
travelling to the little stable
bearing gifts for baby Jesus
showing him love, as they were able

Mary takes this all to her heart
God has told her, he was precious
so as we gather altogether
let`s remember that first Christmas

Winter`s Moon

Shorter days means darker nights
winter`s moon among the star`s lights
crisp and round a large beacon
travelling the skies in this frosty season
wondrous orb bright winter`s sphere
shine down on earth until dawn arrives here!

Home Coming!

winds howl and snow blankets all the land
dark sky`s lit by millions of stars
one lonely figure travels one
bent against the weather
family on his mind
returning home
for Christmas
festive
time

Winter's Beauty

A sparkling white landscape all around
reflected across a mirrored lagoon
and a sky filled with a million stars
glistening close by a large winter`s moon

small pawprints spied under the tree line
muffled silence blankets across the land
robin redbreast watches from a branch
singing sweet songs that sounds so grand

soft snowflakes fall to earth like stars
each one unique, lasting, for but a moment
creating picturesque scenes to be enjoyed
all shapes and designs and heaven sent

Cat amongst the Crib

I don`t mean to be disrespectful
but this spot is very comfortable
snuggled among these little creatures
even though they`re Christmas features
I really hoped you wouldn't see me
after the problems with last year tree
so I`m here to guard baby Jesus
until he`s big enough to protect us !

Misty Morn

On this cold and frosty morn
with the clouds riding so low
an eerie mist lingers late
sun struggling to glow

A frosty start to this dull morn
as pale mist loiters in hollows
for winter has now appeared
setting tones for our tomorrows

Like a foaming sea rolling through
this cold, damp cloud rumbles in
weaving its way amongst buildings
whilst the sky begins to brighten

Our world wrapped up in a blanket
half submerged within thick grey mist
lingering for many an hour
wintry scene that seems to persist

So as the coldest season starts
this bleak weather is here to stay
thus wrap up warm before you go
and make the most of a wintry day

Muffled World

Waking up to total silence
a sense of bright deafness all around me
a world covered by a thick white duvet
that shines in through my bedroom window
muffling all the every day sounds
creating a stillness everywhere
a white blanket
of cotton wool
all around me on this early morning

stood on my back door threshold
surveying the white scenery that greets me
this world still wrapped in its duvet
that covers right to the horizon
suppressing the sounds from my senses
a calmness from all the stresses
a white softness
of fluffy towels
comforting me this early morning.

Christmas Angel

Sitting here wrapping presents and writing tags
I still find it hard that there`s nothing for you
so wishing I could write one with your name on it
but I know you are always with us - that`s true

I lost a piece of my heart when you got your wings
but you gave me all the strength to carry on
all the gifts under our tree are for family
your love has helped me smile, laugh, have fun

as the festive season creeps up on us all
it`s a time for me to celebrate and believe
that you`ll join us throughout this special time
you`ll always be my Christmas Angel, dear Steve

Solitude

Through the silence I walk
the gentle crunch under my feet
muffled noises all around
as I spy a quiet dimly lit seat

for under the park light
a snow covered bench is seen
though cold, its very inviting
a white throne for a queen

all around is darkness
as this seat sits in a pool of light
crisp foot prints near by
creating a intriguing sight

this scene so full of tranquility
invites me to come and rest a while
though cold, it`s peaceful here
distant light gives it an eerie smile

leaving my footprints behind me
I accept the sweet invitation
solitude and quietness
love this wonderful temptation

Snow before the Storm

Silence is broken
by the whisper of
soft sculptured snowflakes

as noise is muffled
under the slow tread
of feet across the ground

sky heavy with snow
hanging over the land
all quiet before the storm

with paw prints running
across the deep snow mounds
found under the hanging boughs

a hush has descended
over all this landscape
waiting for the storm to arrive

so as the sun sets
and the moon shines down
across this silent countryside !

Lovely Christmas commission.  Doesn't Yeoubi look so sweet.

Yeoubi

Yeoubi, "Sunshine through the rain"
Eyes, round soulful brown and bright
Outgoing, loves water and muddy fun
Utterly sweet, and intelligent and friendly
Boisterously barks to show great loyalty
Interested in his food, especially peanuts

A Lonely Moment

life feels like a black hole
a loneliness felt so deep
muffled silence of the heart
a stillness, more than sleep

suspended by emotions
a world spinning all around
STOP! need to get out of this
yelling for help, but no sound

weighed down with loneliness
smothered with isolation
no one to guide me back to life
left to suffer , great desolation

which direction should I take?
how do I manage or survive
questions remain unanswered
just maybe help will arrive!

Our Christmas Tree

Twinkling under the lights
wrapped around the tree
red and golden tinsel
a spectacular sight to see

different shapes and sizes
these baubles hanging there
along with chocolate Santas
all shimmering with flare

a shiny star sits on our top
overseeing the activities
laughter and much merriment
all part of these festivities

there's a long string of colours
also winding round the tree
little bulbs that flash with joy
makes our tree alight with glee

placed all around its base
many presents wrapped up bright
with bows, ribbons and labels
our tree is an awesome sight

Santa

On the eve of Christmas as the snow falls
Santa crosses the evening sky
as eight reindeer pulls his sleigh
lead by red nosed Rudolph
laden with his gifts
for girls and boys
Santa Claus
will be
here!

 Stormy Night

Rain splatters my window pane
pushed on by this driving gale
a fierce black sky up above
lashing the house with its tail

howls heard from an angry wind
shaking all that`s in its path
bashing hard against this home
tonight we`re feeling God`s wrath

the land is lit by a flash
lightning streaks across the sky
thunder clashes from afar
heaven's vengeance from on high

trees are bent almost double
as this mighty storm rages on
leaving a trail of destruction
hoping by dawn the rain`s gone

my window pain now shudders
from the sheer force of the storm
I'll remain snuggled here inside
by the roaring fire so warm

Muffled Wonderland

             Muffled Wonderland

Waking up to a crisp white world
with clear blue skies over head
muffling the sounds of our lives
nature wrapped up in its snowy bed

tiny paw prints seen over the land
            from scurrying creatures homeward bound
while a Robin chirps from the garden wall
wonder where his next meal will be found

            icicles hanging down from  branches
sparkling in the cold winter's light
a strange scene that's frozen in time
            creating a wonderland so bright

stillness felt that calms the soul
            delicate snowflakes like patterned lace
as sun glistens across the landscape
peace is experienced within this place

Robins have been a symbol of Christmas, snow on the ground and frosted branches.

I remember watching a little Robin in my parent`s garden,  he use to sit on the handle of my father`s spade and wait him drink a mug of tea after he had been working on his vegetable patch.

Mister Robin

The muffled silence of this winter garden
sparkling with ice on the branches of trees
the festive season is here once again
wild life still thrives even through this freeze
for snow has settled on every surface
paw prints make patterns in the deep crisp snow
there amongst the branches he sits watching
Mister Robin`s bright red waist coat for show
looking smart as he`s dressed in his finest
his chest puffed out with pride for all to see
singing his song as he views the garden
from way up high in his snow covered tree
with black beady eyes darting all around
there`s nothing he`ll miss from his world on high
from the fat house cat to the loud grey pigeon
he`s waiting for his supper, he`s so sly !
love that the festive season has started
for white powdered snow is found everywhere
Mister Robin is perched on my apple tree
looking like a very smart millionaire!
