Ocean `s Stars

Moon light
shimmers over
a dancing ocean
rippling
with the currents
leaving a trail
on the
undulating surface
of sparkling stars
reflecting
heaven`s wonders
lightly skipping
through the waves
brightening
up the world
with love......

Its that time of year again
when we celebrate your birth
remembering that special day
and now so proud of your worth

from all your childhood mischief
your scraped knees and playful tricks
coping with all the sad times too
these have been life`s building bricks

now you stand tall and proud
through it all you remain strong
for you've started you business
you have found where you belong

You will make a great Blacksmith
Hammer and Tongs will go far
Jon you are one of a kind
I know that you will be a star

Jon, you hold so much respect
and trusted by so many
you can hold your head up high
there`ll be good time a plenty

so as we celebrate together
sit back and enjoy the day
I just wanted to wish you
a very Happy Birthday !!

Souls in the evening sun!

Through the open window
in the setting sun light
air filled with many souls
atmosphere thick with emotions
for this time is so intense
so many comings and goings

as these souls need their release
feels like feathers fluttering
gently in the evening breeze
looking for a heart
positive energy
to give to our world

soft murmurs can be heard
such sweet sounds to ears
a warmth through the heart
as these souls find a host
allowing life to continue
the unknown is revealed

Clean Slate

from the bitterness of your voice
to the hatred in your harsh eyes
I feel the air thickening between us
knowing now how much of this you despise

for once there had been a great love
your mind had been open to me
but as of now there is only contempt
as you have close the door and turned the key

my world appears shut to you
for this stone barrier is strong
I hope as time had passed by, it would yield
but not for now, as this journey will be long

at the mention of your name, I weep
still upset for what could of been
for maybe we were never meant to be
so as from today our slate is wiped clean.

Rhythms of the Ocean

with the tide creeping in
freshening up all around
sea edging slowly inwards
making rhythmic sound

the ebb and flow of life
sets the rhythm of the day
controlled by the moon
that affects us in every way

at high tide all is submerged
lapping at the thick stone wall
until the tide slips away
revealing sea defences tall

as it slowly leaves our shores
debris is found on the sands
what`s the ocean left us today?
that we can turn with our hands

twice every day this occurs
through rhythms of the oceans
always stands the test of time
creating harmonic motions

Just love the ocean and is mesmerising sounds....

The Dead Slumber

the dead slumber
in their stone beds
with names etched out
on their head rests
bad weather comes
with storms beating
but the dead sleeps
nothing will wake

the living weep
for their great loss
loved ones have gone
they've cross over
with their maker
they now reside
as the dead wait
for the coming

as the wind howls
and an owl hoots
their ghosts now stir
through evening mist
moss covered stone
with names fading
memories lost
as time goes by

sleep on dear friend
I`ll not forget
your good deeds
you did for me......

Mother Earth sees all

Her eye is all seeing

you can not hide

she watches over you

through all the seasons

from the winter snows

to the summer flowers

Mother Earth sees all

For she nurtures nature

as best she can

it saddens her to see

how you damage the land

and pollute the oceans

not always obvious, but

Mother Earth sees all

Trees for our benefit
the earth is good
with clear running water
there`s everything you need
but taken for granted
you destroy all that`s pure
Mother Earth sees all

With blue skies over head
sun on our backs
Mother Earth treats us well
an arc of protection
she offers all to you
so love one another

Sympetrum Striolatum (Dragonfly)

Poised just above
sweet blue petals
shimmering body
orange in the sunlight

fluttering slightly
in the gentle breeze
narrow veined wings
transparent to the eye

this dragonfly
warming in the sun
so spectacular
intricate patterns seen

delicate insect
beauty on the wing
with large compound eyes
aware of everything

life in the air
seldom seen up close
this creature of style
has its place in nature...
