Hammer and Tongs

Hammer pounding

anvil clashing

metal heated

man at work

exceptional craft

reliable Jon

always eager

never falters

determined to succeed

tongs at the ready

over the hot forge

noisy workshop

grinder sparking

satisfaction guarantied !!

Knocked down

pressure, pressure every where
no let up to be found
so stressed out right now
been knocked to the ground

thought I could trust you
but now I see I`m wrong
you slashed my confidence
and now I`m not that strong

for I once had the strength
to tackle anything
but now I bury my head
I`m dangling by a string

you`re a thorn in my side
this time I`ll walk away
don`t want you in my life
here`s the start of a new day!

To the Flower of my Life

You bring me joy to my heart
you fill my life with happiness
as I watch you develope
Into a beautiful young lady
I know all the troubles were worth it
all the pain was for a reason
for as you turn twenty one today
you have the world at your feet
you whole life a head of you
and a wonderful future
Never stop smiling
never stop wishing
always be happy
and always be true
then life will be good to you
you whole life through!

A poem I wrote for my daughter`s 21st Birthday 

New Beginnings.......

I can`t give
what I haven`t got
and I can`t be
what I am not

no matter what
you say or do
I`ll always have
what we went through

for blood is thicker
than any water
but now I feel
my path must alter

the way we were
has been and gone
I can`t stay
so I`ll move on

but please remain
loving and strong
memories held
our whole life long

Frozen Numbness

there's a numbness
that sits on my heart
slowly stopping me breathing
I'm unable to feel love
there's something gripping me

Not sure how to carry on
for my world is getting smaller
there isn't much more time
soon I'll only be s shell
no sustenance at all

As the grip is getting tighter
numbness keep on spreading
across the whole of my chest
crippling my existence
as I a try to move to the light

Where once my love would freely flow
now all I feel is bitterness
as this death grip takes over
oozing from my frozen heart
seeping into my very soul!

Won't be long til there's nothing
nothing left of this poor heart
for its touched by this icy grip
no more to beat life into me
no more the spread the desire to live!

An anniversary poem

May you both be warmed by each other`s smile making time in life to walk and talk awhile for deep down you`re more than just best friends as you enjoy the kind of love that grows and never ends and may your journey bring you both much pleasure as time creates memories for you to treasure

Mystic Moon

to watch this mystic moon
run her course across the sky
gliding so serenely
over the dark horizon

such a large round orb
almost touching the trees
travelling along with us
on her nightly journey

with her patchy markings
and craters that look so clear
seen with the naked eye
as they stand out so proud

silently floating onward
through the darkened sky
brightening up the landscape
with soft cosmic lights

for this heavenly sphere
appears every evening
arching across the galaxy
to disappear each morning

so as you look to the moon
travelling on her orbit path
know that she will guide you
each and every dark night..!
