as you put your feet up and rest

let the family do the work

as you're due this special perk

so I'll raise my glass to say

Fireworks Party!

The thrill of the night is running high

bonfire`s pile up and ready to light

please Mr Weather Man, don`t let it rain

we`re all wrapped up warm on this festive night

a buzz in the air as the fireworks are lit

so many whooshes and bangs through the air

sky lit by a kaleidoscope of colours

as there`s a succession of fancy flares

flames from the fire warm us up where we stand

each and everyone`s face is set aglow

as heads tilted up to watch the display

mesmerizing us, `til it`s time to go

Bonfire Night is  a colourful night with all the rockets, flares and sparklers, but we must all remember to be safe and look after our pets too.  Have a great Night

Feel so alone, an orphan set adrift on a sea teeming with hate

No sail or rudder to guide me

No company to share my woes

I am a solitary figure floating aimlessly, sharks bait........

  A wounded soul left in the darkness

  bound by cruel cold chains there

  trapped emotions that need to be set free

  sorrows that rip through the heart

  as it screams for freedom ......let me be!!

  escaping from this dark place is all that matters !

  Caged Soul

  stress and confusion are strong emotions
  helping to convey a passion to my pen
  letting ink swirl across this parchment
  releasing words that have been locked away
  creating pictures found deep in my caged soul....!

Fireside Hugs


Watching the roaring hot fire
glowing embers from within
crackling as the logs burn
feeling the warmth on our skin

snuggled up on the couch
glass of wine that tastes divine
leaning into your body
looking at you with a sign

surrendering unto you
melting into your arms
mesmerized by the flames
as I fall for your charms

the fire starts to die down
we cuddle under the rug
sipping wine as we watch
laid there wrapped in a hug

as evening comes to an end
you hold me `til I sleep
nestled warm under the fur
I`m safely in your keep

Winter is almost here once more
for the evenings are drawing in so fast
sat by the warmth of a roaring fire
my pen still flows across the parchment
painting pictures with words long into the night

Red Poppy

Remembering each life

Engraved on our hearts

Destined for glory

Poppy fields all ablaze

Our Soldiers fought for freedom

Peace was won so valiantly

Proud of each and every one
