yay! summer is here and schools are out

bags packed, car loaded, off we go!

sunshine and beach in our sights

small chalet, what a view

happy laughing kids

relaxed parents

holidays

begin

now

Mysterious Ocean

 I love the ocean, its waves, mysterious depts, many colours and the feel of it`s ebb and flow and I find myself drawn to its beauty, whether, gentle or enraged.

Mysterious Ocean

A vast rippling cloth of ocean

reaching out to all horizons

flowing from beach to distant beach

each tide controlled by the moon

this living, breathing, moving sea

ever changing, but always present

its lulling rhythms ebb and flow

what ever happens, its consistent

but there`s a turbulent side

raging, thrashing, waves crashing

seas white crested, causing destruction

blasting its way through everything

such an angry foreboding sea

dark churning waters, nothing`s safe

hitting the coast land and beaches

with pounding wave after wave

this sea can be both raged or still

wild, wonderful and wicked, 

so..be prepared, never take lightly

this mysterious ocean

Kestrel

   Kestrel 

(falco tinnunculus)

This stunning kestrel watches all

missing nothing with his keen sight

chest puffed out with sheer pride

a coiled spring, ready for flight

an awesome bird to behold

has the strength to over power

then bring down his enemy

a magnificent warrior

dressed so smartly in rustic red

head cap and wings tipped slate blue

dark beady eyes,  sharp hooked beak

brings fear to all who come into view

with long sharp menacing talons

as his most striking feature

he`s mastered all that he surveys

this powerful cunning creature

it`s a wonderful privilege

to watch him glide high in the sky

and hear his call upon the wind

diving down on his prey with flair

fly free with the wind dear kestrel

soar high above the countryside

smartly dressed in your fine colours

knowing your there, fills us with pride!

My little Sister

 Big Sister

Mummy`s tummy has grown bigger

and soon I`m going to be a big sister

can`t wait to welcome her to the family

show her around and cuddle her happily

I will teach her how to laugh and smile

pet the cat, use a slide and dress in style

she will sleep in my room in her little cot

for we`ll be best friends and that says a lot!

running barefoot through meadows

walking along the beach

a sweet tender kiss

Memories of Memphis

Beautiful memories of Memphis

 variety of nature and beautiful scenery 

the passion and vitality of its people

from modern city to wild greenery

wonderful surroundings, so much to see

 museums, tramways to paddle steamers

cruising up and down the old man river

Memphis is a place for dreamers

Mud Island, Pyramid, Mississippi River

plantations,  swamps, so much history

street bars and live music, an aura of fun

these all add to Memphis`s mystery

such an amazing city to visit

Memphis is a hard place to depart

with it`s joy of wonder and adventures 

memories are engraved in my heart

Just saying.....!

Its hard to keep up

when people start to change

loyalties are stretched

emotions feel strange
yet a smile costs nothing
and a greeting is free
 so cut all this anger

come and say Hi to me!
