                               A
                               splash
                               of ice
                                jagged
                                spikey
                               all frail
                                and brittle
                                single moment
                                in a frozen time
each one so different to the eye
                                   a work of sheer beauty
                             through the freezing, bitter cold
a piece of art in its own right
                                intricate patterns to be spied
through the bleakness of winter snow, ice and a blast of wind
drifting down through the air, floating softly in flurries
thus creating each snow flake glistening
                                    sparkling in the winter sun
                                a splash of art
                                 frosted blue
                                abstract vision
                                 delicate beauty!

Jack Frost might freeze my ink
numb my fingers
so I can't write
but through the warmth of my heart
my pen will flow with passion.....

Poetry for the blind.

I had an interesting commission recently.  I was asked to write a poem for a lovely lady to give to her partner for Christmas.  Nothing unusual with that, you may say,  but her partner is blind.

I wrote a poem for her that was made up from her own words and she was really happy with it`s our come . Then I contacted the Royal National Institution of the Blind to ask if they could help.  They were very happy to help and today I received the poem that has been transcribed into braille.

This is such an honour and I am so pleased to be able to send this to my customer and I hope her partner enjoys his Christmas gift.

So never feel that a challenge is impossible as there is always a chance that it is possible. This was the case for me and I am so glad that I took it on.  I have learnt so much and I am so proud of what I have achieved.

The Poem ...

Stephen

my special boyfriend

can't wait for Christmas with you
I feel such joy and happiness
in everything we do.

I know it will be a special time
every moment we're together
the magic of the festive season
will build memories forever

you're my Christmas dream
I couldn't ask for more
just want to give you all you need
and a future you`re hoping for.

Double Joy....

Welcoming our bundles of joy
two pairs of feet and hands
bright eyes that show pure love
and curls of golden strands

hearing their gurgling sounds
our great joy can not be beat
sharing the love of twins
our family`s now complete

Snowman
Standing
All alone
Proudly in the garden
Coal for eyes
Carrot for a nose
Pipe in his mouth
Smiling happily
All watchful
In a white landscape
Red scarf around his neck
Black buttons down his front
Twigs sticking out for the arms
Looking so smart standing here
Amongst all this wintry scenery
Watching out for Father Christmas
So then he can go join his friends
At the festive season celebrations
For our winter wonderland guard
Standing there in our garden
Merry Christmas everyone!

*
Star
Shining
On top the tree
Our Christmas Tree
Tinsel and many baubles
Bright sparkling lights that flash
Our beautifully tall festive tree
Not forgetting all the chocolate Santas
At the bottom there are many different presents
Some small little packages and others large and lumpy
All so brightly wrapped with ribbons and bows
Casting shadows where the cat could go and hide
Wondering if she will sniff out her present before the day
Each family has its own traditions when celebrating Christmas
So let us all
Give thanks
So Merry
Christmas!

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

star
upon
the top
of our tree
shining brightly
a gift for our world
lighting up this merry Christmas season of cheer
sparkling brightly with the many decorations
coloured tinsel, baubles, twinkling lights
bringing great  joy to  the festivities
this little star shines out with joy
proclaiming good will to men
with powdery       snow  falling
the fire side              so warming
this   little                        sweet star
shining                                  brightly
upon                                          the top
 our                                                  tree

                   Christmas Cheer!

It`s that time of year again
the excitement is growing
everyone has their secrets
there`s no sign of it slowing

Shopping bags and packages
sticky tape, and wrapping paper...
cards written and presents done
all this fun is such a caper

Decorations all in place
just love the atmosphere
raise you glass everyone
for Christmas time is here!

Christmas count down has started !!

The shoot.

Following countryside pursuits
with shotgun and cartridge to hand
through your sight, the target is seen
take aim and fire on your command !

Cathedral Close

Slowly emerging through the mist
this mighty building comes into view
a changing landscape in the morning
through trees that's grey in form and hue

its elegant spire shrouded in fog
looming over this ancient city
such wondrous grandeur to be seen
in this county of tranquillity

as the sun builds up it' strength
revealing this Cathedral's beauty
this house of God comes to life
to perform its heavenly duty

My Heavenly Moon

A tiny speck of light
shining in the dark so bright
poised high in the sky
where angelic angels fly
this orb of fire that I see
filling the sky with beauty
it feels good to see it there
sparkling with so much flair
this sweet heavenly sphere
that fills me with much cheer
knowing I`ll see you soon
my heavenly moon
