Waterfall
Down in the depths of the forest
from what seems to be the heavens
water cascades down with such force
moving mountains as it goes
pouring gallons over the edge
deep into the bowels of the earth
white foam engulfs the area
as thunder roars over solid rocks
crashing into the waters below
roaring, pouring
bashing, crashing
thunderous sounds
never ceasing, always flowing
the waterfall just keeps on going

I was reading a National Geographical magazine and a photo of a Rain Forest tree made me think, we can not afford to lose these wonderful trees, This poem tries to describe it.

shimmering the last sun light
full of mystery and intrigue
an eerie moon, shining !
perfect orb above this earth
caught in the evening hues
bidding farewell to the sun
creating exciting views !
a sweet bright summer's moon
continuing along its pathway
as darkness engulfs this scene
night slowly takes over from day

Be True to Yourself
Friday, 5 August 2022
I had a chance to travel back to Dorset, to the lovely village, Horton, where I grew up. It was strange but nostalgic and brought back many wonderful memories. The tower in the photo is a folly and is known as Horton Tower where I had a nasty accident, but it was fabulous to go up and see it again.
My visit inspired this poem.
If you have a memory that you would like to have put into a poem, please feel free to message me and I`ll be happy to help.
