Between Loch Harray and Loch Stenness on Orkney,  you will find the ancient and mystic Circle of Stones, known at The Ring of Brodgar

 Mystic Circle of Stones

Tall solid majestic stones

standing dark against the sky

silent, lonely, cold and ancient

revealing history to the eye

these old columns of stones

have aged over many centuries

full of intrigue and wonder

filling the mind with mysteries

built by a Neolithic community

that fished and farmed on ancient land

coming together to build this circle

stones placed where they still stand

 sadly these solemn textured stones

have weathered through the seasons

eerie, old and yet formidable

standing in this place for good reasons

the sun's rays stream across the stones

thus creating long dark shadows

they've seen many unique moments

surrounded by sky, loch and meadows
