Coffee Time

Sat here with my cup of latte

watching the world as it goes by

wondering whats on peoples minds

totally absorbed..wow..the time does fly

some people smile and say hello

other seem to be in such a haste

I imagine what they are doing

meetings, affairs, what have they faced?

some sit and slowly stir their coffees

one texting..a loved one maybe..

others chatting, they`ve so much to say

it`s enjoyable, to sit and see !

quiet music in the background

sets the mood and helps time to flow

gentle murmurs of all the voices

watching people, pass by, then go !!

Springtime, Mother Nature`s waking up

Spring Time

Blossom scent in the air
sweet smelling tulips
frog`s spawn in the pond
all signs that spring is here
bluebells and caterpillars
the gardens come to life
longer days and shorter nights
sitting out in the afternoon sun
listening to the bird calls
watching my cats play
relaxing in the sunshine
enjoying this spring time.

Little heads waving blue bonnets 

carpeting the woodland floor

frills of bright green bordering 

filling our hearts with joys of spring

dappled sunlight lifts the spirit

filtering through the trees

spotlighting the mystery of spring

bringing nature alive !

Cheeky Squirrels

 a quick glimpse of a fluffy tail

flickering amongst the trees 

scurrying up and down trunks

scampering through the leaves

these sweet innocent creatures

are not all that they appear!

they`re mischievously cheeky

and trouble when they`re near

watching their playful romping

searching for their winter hoard

burying them yet forgetting where

there`s plenty of nuts to be stored

as nature dresses up for autumn

these cheeky squirrels do not care

for each day is filled with playtime

as they race around everywhere!

Everybody has their own path to tread, each one is different, we meet people along the way, some pass by, some walk with us a while, some even stay,  supporting each other.  We all have our own paths of life and goals to reach.

Path of life

Loneliness on the path of life

feeling like a solitary tree

there`s miles and miles of road ahead

but nothing helpful here for me

should I turn back or carry on

I`m not sure that I really care

each way seems too barren to me

stuck in the middle of nowhere

I just need a friend to talk to

an arm to lean on, once in a while

someone to show me, I`m ok

the courage to walk tall in style

my friend, oh friend take care of me

let me rest here for a short time

when strength is with me once again

I`ll continue my journey`s rhyme.

Liquid State!

With the stage coming alive

as the venue begins to roar

feeding this electric atmosphere

now the volume starts to soar

feel the beat hit your chest

through an explosion of light

vocals, drums, guitar and bass

creating a memorable night!

penetrating lyrics heard

vibrating through the floor

above strings of sheer passion

jubilant followers want more

headbanging, arms swaying
everybody`s  rocking their feet
Liquid State, so  amazing!
performing to their heavy beat

silence feels like isolation

locked away in solitude

trapping my mind in darkness

my veins throbbing wildly

hearing the pulse in my ears

plunging my soul into madness

it only takes a little beat

to get my senses tingling

slowly dispersing the emptiness

music is the beat of my life

blasting away the cobwebs 

and shaking up the stillness

let the music rip through me

bringing my soul back to life

electrifying my happiness

Cornwall

Cornish pasties, a miners lunch and been about since 1877

Over 300 beaches around the county`s 430 mile coastline

Rich colourful flora, with over 385 types of plants 

Native language is called Kernewek, a form of Celtic

Wrestling Cornish style, with tough jackets to grip onto!

Awesome basking sharks are seen just off the coast

Local tin mines once made Cornwall a world leader in production 

Liskeard, has it`s own magical Pipewell, that`s never run dry.

      Grief       

"I don`t want to be on the planet" she said

 "can`t cope with anything now he`s dead

  cancer`s angels came and took him away

 I lost my soulmate on that dreadful day!"

 I can`t eat, can`t sleep or even raise a smile

 how can I even carry on, I feel I`m in exile"

 sadden  tears begin to run down her cheek

 this grief she felt, was making her so weak.

 "he was my rock, my love, my everything

  yet I will always wear his wedding ring"

  and while she talking the tears keep flowing

 "I`m really not sure I can keep on going"

  comforting her as much as can be done

  for life would appear to have lost it`s fun

  sat in the garden with a cake and latte

  all that`s needed, is to make her happy!

Elegant Swan

you pad, you squawk

you slip and slide

but when you fly high, you glide

webbed feet steady

wings beating

barrel chested, thrusters ready

racing across the water`s surface

taking to the air

you`ve left ground base

tucking up feet

rhythmic wings beat

majestic swan has fulfilled 

an amazing feat!

Snowdrops, daffodils and crocuses, with birds singing and warmer days, Spring is in the air, though winter hasn`t quite given up!

Welcome in the Spring

As the snowdrops peep 

through the cold earth

spring is in the air

lighting up with flowers

shafts of green leaves

with white hanging heads

swaying the the breeze

between the showers

and bright blue skies

but just to remind us

a chill wintry wind blows

winter has not left yet

buds on the branches

join with the snowdrops

thus encourage spring

to come to the dance

life is so alive

as birds are singing

come and join with us

in the merriment..!

Abandoned Prayers

   This old unloved church

   that`s stood for many years

no more blessings given 

just many angel`s tears

dark drab furniture

with damp pealing paint

rows of decaying pews

hints of colour so feint

time, long since passed by

as faith has lost the day

books littler the wooden floor

there`s no one left to pray

sunlight streaming through

damaged windows behind

 sad and lonely dereliction

can play tricks on the mind

there`s no more love left here

for these sad old rotten chairs

only memories remains

just abandoned prayers

Ride cancelled by Rain

Drenched through to the core

as water streams down

splashing over everything

cascading to the ground

roaring around the yard

as heavy droplets landed

stopping the journey dead

this ride cancelled by the rain

these bikes stand there alone

as the storm rages on

no chance of staying dry

for everything is drowned

this adventure has ceased

at least for this afternoon

just wait until tomorrow

and our journey will resume

Mum`s Taxi is a great occupation and I love it! 

Mum`s Taxi

It`s really quite amazing

how my life can twist and turn

one moment I`m sat at home

then I`m off to drive and learn

collecting friends from the station

drive to Lacock in the sun

or a shopping trip with my friends

nor forgetting the school run

so, remember what the sign says

the one in my car window

"Mum`s Taxi", so I`m the best

I`m here through rain, sun or snow!

sadness has engulfed me
