Loneliness

Singular state of mind
eats away at my heart
stripping all the happiness
tearing my soul a part

tears rack through my body
made worse by sounds of laughter
though a smile is worn to please
only sadness remains here after

pain dwells deep in my heart
as I cry through the dark night
this loneliness feels eternal
there appears no end in sight!
