In Memory of my Special Mum

Upon this November morn

standing humbly before your grave

my heart`s missing a piece of love

a hug from you is all I crave

sadly the angels called for you

and now you guide me from above

as I travel along my path

filled with your wonderful love

Mothers are special people

with memories we hold forever

they`re like bright coloured buttons

that keep families together

so today I bring you flowers

and this little poem to say

thank you for all you did for me

everyday`s now a special day

I kiss your cheek to say good night
and wish you sweet dreams til dawn
sending up a prayer to your Guardian Angel
to wrap you safely in their soft proctective wings
until I greet you when you awake tomorrow morn...!

   Today`s a good day to write
   my heart is racing with emotions
   that yearn to have their story told
   painted through words across this parchment
   making new memories to be held so dear....!

Nights getting colder for winter sets in
and as the ink in my pen struggles to flow
I find myself hugging a frothy hot chocolate
while painting pictures in my mind
ready to start writing poetry in the morning

Red Steel Poppies

Tough hard unyielding steel
the raw ingredient here
to be used to great effect
where beauty can appear

roaring forge is heating
the steel is now red hot...
then hammered into shape
on anvil with great thought

all parts are formed and ready
assembly can now take place
for rare beauty can be seem
a steel creation to embrace

now the finishing touches
each one a different copy
red flower and shiny stem

Winter Warmth

Swirls of steam

sweet aroma 

warm invite

from the cold

frozen winter

cold hands

fire roaring

curled up snug

cuddling my cup

of hot coffee

topped with cream

and sprinkles

so tasty

and nibbling 

on chocolate

in the warmth...

shut out winter

all wrapped up

by the fire

another chocolate

is most welcome!

But now I feel like hot pokers  stabbing me,  as I walk across hot coals

Blisters open , soars bleeding

No help offered to guide me

I am a lonely figure walking through the embers crying...........
