Sweet Dreams

After a hard day playing

it`s time for you to sleep

off to where you can dream

all comfy on the sofa

curled up snug and warm

thinking of tasty cream

you look so soft and fluffy

in the refection of the moon

whiskers caught in its light

purrfect as you sleep

sweet dreams little one

slumber on through the night

Be my Valentine.....

Meeting your eyes across the room

just feeling that this is so right

Brushing against you arm as we passed

I knew this was going to be a great night

You were the perfect gentleman

making sure I had everything I need

A glass of wine to start off with

You really wanted this to succeed   

A rose lay on the table cloth

it`s scent filled me with strong emotion

Seeing the love deep in your eyes

like the swell of a summer`s ocean

Later as we walked hand in hand

your lips kissed the side of my cheek

Sending my heart a fluttering

heightening the aura of mystique

" Be my valentine for ever" 

you whispered gently in my ear

The magic in your eye said it all

I kissed you and replied "yes my dear"

A little birthday poem for my mother
to celebrate her 82th Birthday
Love and miss you xXx




Mother......

As I sit here remembering
all the times we had together
it brings joy to my heart
that I could call you mother

cradled me when I was small
taught me all that I should know
gave me a shoulder to cry on
when times were hard and I was low

encouraged me to stride onward
show the world what I could do
you had faith that I`d succeed
and for that I`ll always love you

pondering on this special day
Birthday wishes to you I send
so love and miss you always 
for you're my mother and best friend!

Frozen Forest


An iced forest frozen in time
perpetually wrapped as if night
dense vegetation that sparkles
like crystal leaves catching the light

what are you hiding amongst the trees
cold secrets locked behind the bark
petrified for eternity
as I travel deeper through the dark

cocooned in this winter scenery
each leave is iced to the core
from grass blades to each new bud
warm sun to be seen no more

The storm

The sky was black with rage
as the rain lashed down
winds blasting from the west
as the earth starts to drown

batten down the hatches
this storm will be so fierce
many trees bent over
howling gales that pierce

brollies turned inside out
this storm`s so frightening
skies dark just like night time
lit up by flash lightning

best to be inside now
as the storm rages on
we`re safe from the torrent 
`til the light of the dawn.....

With the backdrop of a colourful sunrise
I'm painting the pictures in my head
that have raced throughout my slumber

to my angel in heaven

today I`m thinking of you

four years since you left us

I miss and love you so

now you have your wings

and watch us from above

missing your fun and laughter

and all your caring love

sometimes I find a feather

and know you've called on me

I treasure them for ever

and hold them close to me

though four years has past by
the pain never goes away

you`ll always in our hearts
each and every day

Heavenly Moon.

This tiny speck of light
shining through the dark at night

way up high in the sky
where angelic angels fly

this orb of fire that I see
wonder what it could be

it feels good to see it there
sparkling bright with great flair

this sweet heavenly sphere
that fills my heart with cheer

hope I'll see you again soon
my heaven sent shiny moon

On a clear night, it`s great to see this bright shiny orb we call the moon!
