I can`t believe how the years pass by
each time I lay flowers on your grave
and to celebrate another birthday 
I know that I must remain brave

with each year, the kids have grown
and I know just how proud you`d be
to see them get on with their lives
full of determination, yet happy

so on this, the day of your birthday
I send love on an angel`s feather
remembering great memories
that I can hold onto and treasure.

Written Memories

At the end of the day 
I lay down my pen
and think of all that I have written about

emotions and feelings...
or a photography 
hidden by a layer of dust

all memories ,,,,,
that I've held within my heart

now giving them new life
through the ink that I use
reliving a bygone time
as they dance across the papers

painting pictures 
that I can remember
cherishing those moments
that I hold so dear.....

never to be forgotten !

Daffodils and tulips

Daffodils and tulips

standing proud on my table

bright yellows and purples

flowering tall and stable

sun catching on the petals

almost transparent in the light

sweet scent filling the room

Oh, such an awesome sight

each morning these flowers

greet me with a loving smile

fills my day with such joy

making everything worthwhile

Spring flowers in my room

so everything is glorious.

bringing the outdoors in here

fill my heart with happiness

My favourite season is spring, where everything is waking up

happiness is found in the soul.

            Through the open window

in the setting sun light

air filled with many souls

atmosphere thick with emotions

for this time is so intense

so many comings and goings

as these souls need their release

feels like feathers fluttering

gently in the evening breeze

looking for a heart

positive energy

to give to our world

soft murmurs can be heard

such sweet sounds to ears

a warmth through the heart

as these souls find a host

allowing life to continue

the unknown is revealed

March winds a blowing
happy to joke and play
turning umbrellas inside out
and tossing hats away

March rain is pouring
helping seeds to appear
still wrapped in scarf and gloves
but spring is nearly here

Father

I found myself thinking of you today
and just wanted to say a big thank you
as I realise you`ve moved to heaven
 I`m left here wondering what I should do

missing your wisdom and kindness
which helped my journey through life
now you can rest in tranqility
as you`re reunited with your wife

Fathers are very special people
guiding their family along their way
so glad I had you to teach me it all
and saddened  we`ve had our last day

so on this sad occasion I remember
all our memories here to treasure
love and miss you always, Father
sending you love on this angel`s feather

Two teams race on to the pitch
their championship to be won
striking out to score the winner
some people just call this fun !

Dear Father

I weep for you, my father

since the Angels came

though time will heal

this pain that`s deep inside

creating a hole

that can not be filled

while I was growing up

you guided me

taught me the life skills

I would need to learn

celebrating my triumphs

comforting through my failures

always picking me up

when I fell down

helped my move out

gave me away to my spouse

enjoyed your grandchildren

you were there when sorrow

came knocking at my door

I`m sorry I wasn't

always there when needed

I know there were times

when I let you down

no matter what happened

you were there in my heart

the bond of father and daughter

through the haze of tears

my heart is broken in two

though you have left this earth

you are always by my side

Love and miss you always
