Written Memories

At the end of the day
I lay down my pen
and think of all that I have written about

emotions and feelings...
or a photograph

hidden by a layer of dust

anniversaries
that stir up heart ache
gosh I`m missing you mum!

all memories ,,,,,
that I've held within my heart

now giving them new life
through the ink that I use
reliving a bygone time
as they dance across the papers

painting pictures
that I can remember
cherishing those moments
that I hold so dear.....

never to be forgotten !

The Laughing Blacksmith!

Down in a small workshop
amongst the clashing sounds
of hammer on an anvil
a wondrous creator abounds

heat of the forge makes him smile
watching the metal turn red
chuckling as he goes
ideas mulling around his head

rhythmic swings with hammer
as metal shapes start to form
humming to the music
for the action keeps him warm

as his work continues
items become more recognizable
beautiful to the eye
creations so desirable

never underestimate this craft
each finished item is unique
for our laughing Blacksmith
is shrouded in total mystique!

Time Out

Time out is an important part of our daily life. A time to pause, sit still and be quiet.  I take myself off to a little café and enjoy a pot of tea, while watching people pass by the window, scurrying to they're next destination and I ponder.
Pausing for as little as half an hour helps to still the mind. Allowing us to step off the  rollercoaster of life and let the world carry on without us for a while.
I sip my cup of tea, clear my mind and wait to see what happens!
Sometimes I find somethings inspire me to write a blog or poem, people, pets, a sound or smell .... anything really.
I think I`ll continue to take my little bit of time out each day and enjoy a little bit of peace and quiet. Maybe you should try one too and see how you feel.

Mr Badger

Well hello Mr Badge
so nice to meet you today
with your stripy colours
it`s time to be on your way

from the warmth of your burrow
to the coolness of the night
now it`s time to go a-hunting
until the dawn brings the light

off you scuttle along the track
sniffing and digging as you go
where will you end up tonight
I`m not sure you really know

as the sun starts it`s journey
and the world begins it`s new day
I`ll say goodnight Mr Badger
let you sleep and be on my way !!

Mr Cat!

What are you thinking Mr Cat?
as you stare through the window
your eyes caught by an object afar
concentration, anticipation
as you continue to watch
can see your face reflected
in the window`s glass?
ears pricked forward
listening to any sound
sitting perfectly still
and so aware of all around
if something moved outside
would you jump to catch it?
not sure about the glass
but sure that you will ask
"may I go outside please"
just love you Mr Cat..!
whiskers testing the air
eyes brightly focused
just love the way you watch
"may I watch you too?"
we can stare through the window
together, we can study the world

Cats are so observant, it`s wonderful to watch them watching their world!

Eternal Rose

A red rose for you my love
to show how much I care
from a tiny little bud
peeping through the mists of time
growing slowly with each day
as tender love is shown
fed with kindness
as the petals start to open
pure beauty is seen within
promising much treasure
through the sun light
releasing such a sweet fragrance
the flower opens completely
Such an awesome sight
expressing my love
in this rich red rose
my eternal love
I love you

A rose can say so much more than
I love you!
