This poem means a lot to me, I first wrote it on a piece of card as it was the only thing I had to hand.  I now have a notepad and pencil with me all the time.  I still have the card but the words are very faded.
This is a poetic way to describe a life through feet ( so to speak) I was sitting with my baby son, watching him sleep and tenderly touching his tiny feet.

Tiny Feet

Tiny feet that mean so much
to hold gently and to care for
love and tenderly caress
encourage along life`s way
surround and then enclose
in protection, keep them safe
care for them and heal them
from danger and harms hurts
watch them grow and develop
show them independence
let them go without a tear
no more soft cotton wool
good and healthy. fit and strong
all the love to live life through.

The Guitarist
~~~~~~~~~
A lovingly crafted guitar
six taut strings vibrating with sound
as fingers pluck out the rhythm
while others dance over the frets
for music fills the whole room
a sense of well being is found
hands moving swiftly with each strum...
creating wondrous melodies
watching the pleasure of playing
feeling the music in your soul
from tender lilting serenades
to lively jazz and rock and roll
If music is the food of love
then play on my talented guitarist
 Latest Name verse for lovely Richard as  gift from his family.
Richard
Reliable and hard working
Inquisitive in how things work
Cheeky and adventurous
Handyman around the house
Always laughing and smiling
Ready for a new challenge
Devoted to his family
Father
I found myself thinking of you today
and just wanted to say a big thank you
for as I realise you`ve moved to heaven
 I`m left here wondering what I should do
missing your great wisdom and kindness
that`s helped me on my journey through life
so now you can rest in tranquillity
as you are reunited with your wife
for fathers are very special people
guiding their family along their way
so glad I had you to teach me it all
and saddened, now we`ve had our last day
so on this sad occasion I remember
all our memories here to treasure
adored you and will miss you always
sending you love on this angel`s feather
Giants of Bristol Zoo
majestic city elephants
who have reigned in Bristol Zoo
for more than a hundred years
each a character through and through
cheeky Zebi, who stole straw hats
from many an elegant Victorian punter
a gift to the Zoo from a maharajah
she was greatly loved wonder
Rajah, sported magnificent tusks
only male through the Zoo`s history
arriving from Calcutta in 1913
he certainly added to Bristol`s story
Judy was a sweet little character
not tall in stature but big in heart
bringing a smile to all who met her
in her decorated blanket, looking smart
Rosie was a very different elephant
she was large, strong and gave rides
such a character seen around the zoo
blanket and howdah strapped to her sides
Christina and Wendy who lived together
taken for walks across the nearby Downs
for these two were amazing mammals
playful pachyderms in the zoo grounds
after losing Christina, Wendy was the last
people have missed them, that`s evident
Bristol Zoo rolls on to it`s next adventure
that will hopefully include an new elephant!
Grieving!
Great loss felt within my grieving heart
Remembering all our precious moments
Images of our life, create tears in the soul
Everywhere around me, I feel you there
Visions of you fill my head in my dreams
I know you walk silently beside me
Now you have your wings and fly free
Grief is an emotion that helps heal us
Once
in a while
in the middle
of an ordinary life
love gives us a fairy tale
