Poetry and Summer
The summer season is a wonderful time, hot sunny days, long warm evenings, barbeques and holidays. I love sitting out in my garden and enjoy the days watching my cats play or snooze the days away.
Painting pictures with my pen as it dances across the page, making images come to life. I find that this can bring joy to others and that makes me happy and proud.
Sometimes the heat can slow my pen down, as my mind can not think of the words I need to finish my painting ….. that`s when a cold drink and a pause can help. Tackle the problem from a different angle and then I will succeed.
For me, poetry plays a big factor in my life, and I love sharing my passion with others. I know there is the ability in everyone to enjoy some form of poetry in their souls.
Poetry is a wonderful way to express emotion in an artistic way. Why not give it a try and see how you feel. It doesn`t have to rhyme, just let your feelings flow and see where it takes you.
Poetry is a way to freedom and a release from stress.
Happy writing

The Chase is on...
Running, running
pounding through the woods
fearing the chase
heart beat thumping
darting amongst the trees
heavy breathing
will they catch me ?
this can`t be happening
just let me be.
stumbling on
so out of breath now
this soaring fear
want to be safe
panting more, chest hurts
must not be caught
can I get through
reach sanctuary
then lock the door....?

Not sure where this poem came from, but it has the feel of a chase, panic and then hope.

Evening Reflections
Reflections of the day
play tricks on our mind
as the sun begins to set
you can start to unwind
the events of the day
can now draw to an end
you can hold them so dear
like a wonderful friend
when all is said and done
we still need our rest
so it`s time now to chill
and evenings are the best
watch as the sun go down
pull up a chair and join me
we`ll put the world to rights
and let`s share a good story

Crumbling History
Ghostly emotions emitted by these buildings
derelict shells from a bygone age
lifeless windows staring blindly on the world
while creeping vines are on the rampage
crumbling masonry scattered on the ground
nature taking it`s revenge by devouring it all
this once proud dwelling prominent here
slowly disappearing with each fallen wall
many memories are locked in this place
precious events throughout its long history
for each ancient stone or brick holding them tight
waiting for that special person to tell their story !

can faith and trust be restored once broken?
when the heart bleeds from it`s deep lacerations
this piercing pain that grips this beating organ
is choked with remorse and consternation
for the very deeds that were inflicted
so harshly on this innocent soul
have left scars that cut through its central nerve
thus leaving a sensation of lost control
even the mere spoken vulgarity
has sent shock waves echoing around
can faith and trust be restored once broken ?
time will tell, if hope eternal is found
a fragile situation that with hope may well be repaired through effort and time

I was asked to write a poem about this little rescued dog call Roger.
This is his story and some pictures of him.
Hope you like the poem.
Baby Roger is a 9 month old German Shepherd puppy who was rescued by the awesome folks at Oswego Animal Shelter, Oswego, NY. He was found running down a rural country highway on Easter Sunday night scared, severely emaciated with a choke collar embedded around his neck. He has severe damage to his nose, mouth & jaw from something tied around it for an extended period of time. He was brought to the shelter with a high fever & numerous other injuries. Baby Roger is extremely small for a puppy his age due to the lack of food & nutrition. He is going to need facial reconstruction surgery, in addition to long term care. He has progressing lameness in his hip & rear legs which is being monitored. Roger has suffered severe emotional trauma which requires extensive specialized training & rehabilitation. Baby Roger will also receive stem cell therapy from Mobile StemCare

Baby Roger
A sad little puppy
was found on Easter night
weak, abused and scared
it was such an awful sight !
kindly taken in to care
under the wing of hope
given his own name, Roger
with his injuries, would he cope?
so young at nine months
he was treated really bad
damaged nose, mouth and jaw
such a sorry start he`d had
hip and rear leg lameness
facial surgery needed
his journey will be long
but his call had been heeded
Roger`s future will be hard
but through much love and care
his future holds great hope
with this little Christmas prayer.
