Relaxation

curled up on sofa with snoozing cats
 dreaming soundly, purring deeply
hiding noses beneath paws
their tails all wrapped around
to watch them breathing
what do they dream
sleeping cats
relax

Robins have been a symbol of Christmas, snow on the ground and frosted branches.
I remember watching a little Robin in my parent`s garden, as it use to sit on the handle of my father`s spade.

Mister Robin
The muffled silence of this winter garden
Sparkling with ice on the branches of trees
The festive season is here once again
Wild life still thrives even through this freeze
For snow has settled on every surface
Paw prints make patterns in the deep crisp snow
There amongst the branches he sits watching
Mister Robin`s bright red waist coat for show
Looking smart as he`s dressed in his finest
His chest puffed out with pride for all to see
Singing his song as he views the garden
From way up high in his snow covered tree
With black beady eyes darting all around
There`s nothing he`ll miss from his world on high
From the fat house cat to the grey pigeon
He`s waiting his supper, he`s so sly !
Love that the festive season has started
For white powered snow is found everywhere
Mister Robin is perched on my apple tree
Looking like a very smart millionaire!

I had a puncture on the way to Brockley.
Found myself in a pickle, however I was lucky to find to young men to help me.

This is my thank you poem!

My knight in shining armour

along with, work colleague, Ricky
when I was a damsel in distress
with a flat tyre, very tricky

you both kindly raced to my aid

as I struggled to cope with my car
explaining how I should change a tyre
something I`d not learnt so far!

it didn`t take to long to change

I certainly learnt a lot
so next time I have a flat tyre
your instructions I`ve not forgot

So, thanks for all your kindness

to this Damsel who got onto trouble
and hopefully I`m be able to cope
and change it on the double!

Thank you very much Lewis and Ricky!

Nature plays tricks.....!

so the sun descends
creating wondrous colours
splashing across the sky
painting the horizon

through the light of the sun
all is silhouetted
causing different shapes
to flutter in the breeze

a long slender stem
it`s branches spread out wide
black against the setting sun
dwarfing the evening scene

as the sun disappears
its path leave such colours
from this tender angle
this stem is really grass

Eternal Love

A red rose for you my love

to show how much I care

From a tiny little bud

peeping through the mists of time

Growing slowly with each day

as tender love is shown

Fed with kindness

as the petals start to open

Pure beauty is seen inside

promising much treasure

Through the sun light

releasing such a sweet fragrance

The flower opens completely

Such an awesome sight

Expressing my love

in this rich red rose

My eternal love

I love you

A rose can say so much more than
I love you!

Autumn to Winter

Autumn`s golden hues

red and orange and yellow

trees alight with bright colours

carpets of leaves covering the ground

being splashed around by

wellington booted children

clad in scarves, hat and mitts,

puffing clouds of steam

as they race around the park.

the trees are looking bare

now they`ve lost their summer coats

but here and there a holly tree

defiant in its green

squirrels red and grey alike

stocking up their larders

to see the winter through.

darker now the evenings

and colder all around

people hurrying to get home

to warm their weary bones

the grass is crunchier underfoot

Jack frost has danced around

he leaves the park all muffled

impressions of black and white.

Winter has crept in

through the gap in Autumns door

and caught us all unaware

until it shouts...BOO !!!!!!

Cat amongst the Presents...

I see a little nose peeping through
all the wrapped presents under the tree
pointed ears twitching through the bows
as your loud purrs sounds happily

It`s so funny to watch you pounce
amongst all the taped wrappings
your tail swishing as you jump around
through all the regalia and trappings

tail in the air and your head on the carpet
bottom wiggles as once again you pounce
then there`s a flurry of fur darts by
as a bright coloured bauble goes bounce

so funny to see all the fun you`ve had
dashing and scurrying all around
but now you have tired yourself out
looking through, there`s only a purring sound!

An Evening by the Fire

Listen to the crackle of the fire
as the flames dance in the hearth
many bright colours shimmering
filling the room with a warm glow
stretched out toasting her fur
one relaxed cat sleeping contently

a hot frothy chocolate drink
steaming on the table beside me
filling the room with a wonderful aroma
helping me to unwind on the sofa
allowing the cat and myself to enjoy
a perfect autumn evening
