Slalom

wrapped up in bright padded boiler suits

attached to thin straight fibre boards

sent down cold steep white carpets

to zig zag through thin gates

and  against the clock

reaching great speed

careering

down hill

swoosh!

Memories, memories

all my treasures put together

creating more memories

hold them in my heart forever

there are good memories

all the wonderful things I have done

those special memories

good times, happy times, having fun!

but there are sad memories

the ones I would rather forget

they are still memories

placed in my soul with no regret

time for new memories

to fill my heart with all that`s great

I love my memories

they`re special, so lets celebrate!!

    Spring Ink

      Spring is in the air

      for my pen over flows

      with stories from my soul

      to cheer up the heart

      as the words pour

      across the paper....!

Moon in all her Glory

to watch the moon drifting along her path
climbing up to her orbit route on high
as she rises slowly above the trees
freedom to float freely through the sky

shining brightly over Mother Earth
influencing the flow of the oceans
while night life comes out to hunt and play
filling the atmosphere with emotions

following this beautiful moon pass over
rejuvenating nature as she goes
finding her touch to be empowering
though most of us stay at home and doze

from the purest white to rich blood red
leaving a hazy light in its trail
for this moon is a wonderful orb
rising every evening without fail

 Old man of the Forest

From huge spreading roots of this mighty tree

to the rubbery bark stretching up towards the sun

from the ground level to the very tips of its branches

this magnificent tree stands proud for everyone

taking its life force straight from Mother Earth

this awesome tree has stood for hundreds of years

supporting such a diversity of life

living in their world until death appears

rising up high to the top of the canopy

spreading its laden branches for all to see

forming a corridor across the forest

allowing animals to travel in safety

this wonderful old man of the forest

stands tall for everyone to aspire to

home for so many insects and animals

it`s grown up to be loved by me and you!

I was reading  a National Geographical magazine and a photo of a Rain Forest tree made me think, 

We can not afford to lose these wonderful trees,  This poem  tries to describe it.

 Recipe for Life

A cup of cheerfulness

at the start of the day

served with dollops of smiles

sending you on your way

A piece of humble pie

filling you to the brim

a handful of laughter

keeps us all nice and trim

Needing plenty of faith

and some curiosity

to help see us through life

don`t forget generosity

We all want forgiveness

to help us all get through

for it goes a long way

there`s so much for us to do

Combine plenty of patience

with lots of love for a treat

sprinkle over a life time

serve everyone you meet !!

Muraenidae

slithering through underwater tundras

weaving in and out of crevices and rocks

swaying with the movement of the oceans

resembling muscular aquatic crocs

relying on motion and smell to hunt

to scourer the terrain for some prey

while seeking a nook to hide in and wait 

eels are able to sense all they survey

 solitary eel swimming silently

rippling dorsal fin runs down its back

powerful jaws, perfect killing machine

survival instinct complete, ready to attack!

Chocolate Trophies

Chocolate bunnies and Easter eggs

filling the store shelves and our heads

brightly coloured and so inviting

these excitingly awesome spreads

there`s different surprises to behold

eyes open wide with a promise of fun

what will be inside these sweet eggs

kids can`t wait for the day to come

and on the morning they rush down stairs

to find their trophies of the day

with cardboard boxes all discarded

it`s chocolate heaven all the way.!
