Stones of Remembrance

Large smooth rounded stones 

a foundation to build a life

each stone balanced by faith

as memories are held together

bright sunrays, light up each stone

capturing precious moments

safely stored forever more 

by adding new stones to the stack

defying gravity as the stack grows

holding magical times at heart

continuing to add new thoughts

a life time of love kept together.

Garden Mischief

Love to watch you playing
scampering all around
bounding across the garden
paws hardly touching the ground

with your black eyes sparkling

and big ears flapping in the air

pink tongue lolling as you run

happily playing without a care!

what cheeky mischief do you plan

as you skid around the corner

chasing after your chewed ball

the playful king of disorder!

panting as you come to a halt

with a madly waggng tail

then off for another lap

all this fun I can't curtail.

later on that afternoon

there's silence in the garden

a snoozing pup is all that's found

his mischief, I will pardon!

Majestic Matriarch

This awesome mammal

pachyderms that walk the land

dominating the horizon

looking so majestic yet grand

plodding through the sparse scrub

she`s watching everything around

able to keep the herd in check

with just one single low sound

her presence is so powerful

yet she`s such a loving creature

need to protect these elephants

they are a national treasure

with two curled ivory tusks

her long slender trunk swaying

this wonderful old matriarch

her sparkling eyes she`s displaying

so, through this awesome landscape

watching these animals walk by

lets remember they are dwindling

we need to keep the numbers high

standing here watching the Savannah

knowing all life here has it`s worth

I love to see these creatures roam

admiring all of Mother Earth

I will always remember you when
I look up at the stairs

I will always remember you when
I am so far away

I can`t hug you or hold your hand now
but I will always remember you

All the things that you gave me will
remind me that you were there for me.

I met a little monkey today

a very clever fellow, I'd say

sat there, exercising his brain

think I'll come and visit again!

polite and intelligent monkey 

looking smart and rather funky

curly tail and green leather hat

so tomorrow I`ll stay and chat

Trapped  Soul

stress and confusion are strong emotions
helping to convey a passion to my pen
letting ink swirl across this parchment
releasing words that have been locked away
creating pictures found deep in my caged soul ….

Snowdrops, daffodils and crocuses, with birds singing and warmer days, Spring is in the air.

Welcome in the Spring

As the snowdrops peep 
through the hard earth
spring is in the air
lighting up the flowers
shafts of green leaves
with white hanging heads
swaying the the breeze
between the showers
and bright blue skies
but just to remind us
a chill wintry wind blows
winter has not left yet
buds on the branches
join with the snowdrops
thus encourage spring
to come in dancing
life is so alive
as birds are singing
come and join with us
in the merriment..!
