Dreams

What do you dream about by pretty cat

as you sleep so soundly on my bed

are there mice and treat aplenty

drifting all around your head  

I love the way you sleep so soundly

purring contently through the night

dream on my little kitty enjoy your slumber

and wake up to new adventures with dawn`s light

Families


Families are funny groups of people, thrown together reluctantly, sometimes they work well and others are a complete disaster. Emotional events can make the situation a hundred times worse.

Sadly when a family experience a death among them, they can find it divides them in many different ways,

At these times, families should try to work together and not tear at each other`s throats, it can be very hard to cope with the surge of strong feeling and emotions.

What with the initial shock of the death followed by the funeral and then dealing with the will and, in some cases, dividing up the estate, can cause so much pain, unhappiness and stress.  Families need to work closely together, take each step at a time and go at a pace that is comfortable for the family as a whole.

Don`t be offended if you disagree with something, take a breath and talk to the people involved, be honest, open and at all time ... be polite.
The whole family is going through the motions in their own way.
I know from experience how hard all this can be .... I have learnt to be patient ...to listen to others ...share good memories, and above all, be compassionate.

So at this sad time, I remember my father, how we laid him to rest, work through his will and find out what his wishes were for the family who are left behind.  I have found myself reunited with my siblings, working with them to fulfil our father`s wishes and remembering the good times we had as a family.

To all those going through a death, whether a family or close friend, I send you my condolences, you are in my thoughts and prayers. Remember they are at peace now, so hold their memory in your heart, for they will be with you always.

rocked gently by the breeze

Evening Woodland

Flickering amongst the dark tree trucks
a descending sun shimmers through
casting long shadows across the ground
with vibrant colours coming into view

This sun set erupts into many colours
with the dark horizon in the distance
silhouetted against the fiery hues
makes this a wonderful existence

As the sun dips lower in the sky
lengthening shadows across the way
creating patterns throughout the forest
a peaceful dusk at the end of the day

Gymnastics

each athlete begins as the music starts
pure movement executed with precision
sequins leotards sparkle in the lights
hearts pounding at the judges decision

Twinkling Stars

Millions of twinkling stars

shining brightly through the night

like kisses from the heavens

caught in the moon`s sweet light

looking down upon this land

illuminating from afar

candles drifting through the sky

each and every sparkling star

Archery

quiver on shoulder and bow in hand
hitting the bull`s eye is your desire
loading your bow, target is sighted
preparing to shoot, take aim and fire !

A drifting moon

reflected in the ocean

ebb and flow of waters

creating gentle motion

so sleep on sweetly

 under this starry night

gently rocked by the waves

bathed in wondrous mystic light

Diving


Up the many steps, way above the pool
man verses water from a great height
perched on the end, ready to dive down
so acrobatically, a wondrous sight.

Woodland Fairy

In a secluded part of the wood
through a shaft of bright light
sat on her toadstool a sweet fairy
full of sparkle, a wondrous sight

with delicate paper thin wings
illuminated by the sun
a mischievous glint in her eye
contemplating so much fun

for this little woodland fairy
sprinkles fairy dust all around
brightening up every dark corner
leaving sweet footprints on the ground.

My Cat

Bright eyes watching me 
thick whiskers testing the air
a purr that`s warms my heart
while you chill without a care

for you`re a free spirit
choosing to live with us
and sharing your affection
as long as you get some fuss

across the oceans of the night
may you drift away on your dreams
and awake refreshed in the morning light

Garden Angels

down among the plants
between the green leaves
watchers are guarding
the flora and the fauna

sweet little angels
all tiny and pink
only just visible
their eyes all seeing

protecting vegetation
disguised as a flower
perched upon the plants
so wonderfully clever

delicately patterned
in pink and purple
swaying in the breeze
these sweet little angels!

Sweet angels of the earth
fluttering through flowers
while sprinkling fairy dust
brings happiness to all
wings sparkling in sunlight
as fairies skip and dance
opening up scented buds
in the colourful dawn
then lighting up fire flies
as twilight settles in
looking after all we have
these guardians of nature
the heart and soul of life
sweet and gentle fairies

Built of Ice

Ice sculptured​ cathedral
cold nature, at its best
columns of mystery
glistening as if blessed

A mighty structure within
this mountain of freezing snow
standing tall for all to see
caught in the evening glow.

Summer warmth

Still in the summer haze
whimsical clouds up night
wafting past the afternoon
leaving trails across the sky

dotted along the horizon
cherry blossom is seen
bright colorful foliage
explosions of vivid green

an air of expectation
can be felt all around
Mother Earth is waking up
new beginning to be found

chirpy birds on the wing
croaking frogs in the garden pond
and skittish cats chasing flies
summer fun watching all respond

sat listening to the sweet sounds
soaking up the warmth of day
hard winters are in the past
summer time is here to stay!!

Warming Strength

A blade of grass stands tall
swaying in summer breeze
absorbing warm sun rays
taking strength from its power

Like that singled blade of grass
I stand tall in the knowledge
that you are my ray of sunshine
instilling warmth in my heart

Soul Adrift

As you tip toe through my emotions
tread carefully upon my heart
though I thought I could stand alone
my inner soul is falling apart

cast off into the ocean`s tide
forever to drift without a cause
floating with no destination
all I`m left with, is remorse

passions snubbed out completely
no rudder to guide my way
a lost soul aimlessly afloat
wondering if I`ll get there some day !

after the bustle of a busy day

The ying and yang
of day and night
the sun and moon
for both are bright

by day the sun
by night the moon
with dark and light
that change too soon

with sun up high
and night will creep
while some do play
others will sleep

our earth is lit
from far away
as we rotate

General Election

They called a general election
fifty days of hard campaigning
with battle buses all deployed
will May see her power waning?

every seat is harshly fought for
from greens, blues, oranges and reds
Great Britain is awash with colours
as they all try to turn our heads

leaflets shoved through letterboxes
there`s so much negativity
all we want is to know the facts
fill our live`s with positivity

voting day came around real quick
with x placed on the voting form
now we`re waiting for the results
this is the lull before the storm
