To see him lay there, 
helpless on a hospital bed. 
all I want to do is 
take him in my arms  
protect him, take away his pain.

blood taken
monitors beeping
the rythym of his heart
each beat I feel 
telling me he's alive.

let him rest a while
sleep is a great healer
for soon the doctor comes
hopefully the news is good
then I can take him home
