Silent night

through the silence of the evening
salty tears running down my cheek
memories from all my yesteryears
turning in on me, making me weak

so much pain eating away at me
stripping me of all emotions
crushing the life out of my heart
submerging my soul in raging oceans

with a heaviness that saddens me
through muffled darkness of the night
for sleep evades my weary body
no way back to the bright light

let me slip into the silent night
relieving me of all my pain
as the stillness washes over me
for staying here will bring no gain!!
