Eye in the Sky

As darkness falls
with the setting sun
this blood red moon
can begin it`s run

so large and eerie
silent as it goes
caught in earth`s shadow
as onward it flows

Moonlight

large bright orb
floating mysteriously
travelling slowly
across the night sky
illuminating
the sleeping world
from sea to old forest
as it goes by

Cheeky Monkey

Swinging through the tree tops
picking fruit along the way
the jungle is his larder
something different everyday

hanging by his tail, he laughs
playing tricks on everyone
this cheeky little monkey
all he wants is to have some fun!

Nature`s Beauty

The scent of sweet aromas
wafting from bright flowers
found deep within the garden
brought on by summer's powers

hearing the buzzing bumble bee
darting through the flower beds
collecting it`s sweet nectar
before homeward bound it heads

summer's bright colours everywhere
heads facing the warmth of sunlight
for each petal is a work of art
all taken from nature's palette

long shadows fill the evenings
as the sunset changes colour`s hues
nature takes on a different look
creating a simply amazing views

Visiting Steve`s Grave

Steve

Sunday,  for me and my family, was an emotional one as anniversaries always are. However, it has been wonderful to be surrounded by all my children.
I know Steve wound be so very proud of them all. For they have achieved so much in such a short time.

Visiting Steve's grave in the late morning sun, with nature in her full regalia was lovely.

It cheered my heart to see that flowers had already been placed, on his grave. So adding ours felt good, along with his poem. I could feel his presence with us and it was a humbling experience.

Telling Steve how much we missed him,  followed by all our news. There`s always news to share with him, from a simple walk that was so inspiring to a new job for one of his children. I know he would want to know.

Can't believe it's been twelve years since the Angels came for him, but at least he's at peace now and watching over us from up in heaven. It's great to hear the Family reminiscing and to hear them laugh at a funny memory.

Though it's the anniversary of your death Steve and you're no longer here with us physically ... your presence will always be with us in our hearts.

Love and miss you always 💗

Mr Bumble Bee

Loud buzzings announces
there are bumble bees about
hopping from flower to flower
collecting the pollen while out

his big fat striped body
held high on stubby wings
buzzing around everywhere
following directions from one that sings

love to hear him as he goes
its a sign that summers here
pollinating the fruit trees
I salute him with a cheer!

Love the sound of the bumble bees....its summertime again..!!

Memories of Us

Sat here in the afternoon sunshine
remembering wonderful times
your laughter and cheeky smile
holidays by the sea
splashing through puddles
history outings
memories
special

This is always a sad time of year when we remember Steve.
This year will be 12 years since you entered through the Pearly Gates with your wings.

White Feather

White feather
angel`s token
sent from above
soft and gentle
smiling down on me
sharing your love

White feather
sent when needed
to show I`m not alone
caring soulmate
watching over me
to treasure for my own

White feather
sweet memento
always brings a tear
soft gift just for me
an angel`s wing
memories to hold dear

Snooze Time.

Sleeping silently as a statue
yet slow undulating breathing
seen through silky patterned fur
a flicker of movement
gentle purring
dreaming sweetly
my dearest
snoozing
cat

Autism.

Autism is not something to be feared
it`s a state of mind that has no limits
persons parked diagonally in their parking space
they see the world in a wonderful way
that we can never truly understand
they're very loving and full of grace.

Unique people with so much to give
that society rejects through misconceptions
it takes a little sense to find some common ground
the simple side of life, we can all learn from
they`re individuals that are fun to be with
intelligent, inquisitive, they always astound.

Trusting and sometimes easily led
body language is hard for them to follow
they just want to be like all the rest
life seems to have served them an unfair lot
that we know they don`t deserve to have
yet as a friend,  they are truly blessed.

Inspirational in every way
their love for life should motivate us
and we must strive to work well together
don`t ever let this harsh world put them down
problems can be resolved through talking
humanity must accept one another.

Spontaneous, loving, fun to be with
they don`t hold grudges or hate anyone
accepting them with joy,  as they're so bright
eye contact appears to be hard for them
but they seem to get around that with our help
we are all special in our own right.

Misunderstood, they battle on in life
it`s not hard to be polite and caring
they have a right to a decent existence
treat them with the respect they deserve
they are not monsters to be afraid of
go say "Hello",  don`t keep your distance !

I have worked closely with the Autistic Society as I have two autistic children.

Having been through alot of pain watching my children and others suffer at the hands of people who don`t understand Autism, I decided to write this poem.

I hope people will learn to respect and treat them as they themselves would wish to be treated.
