Oh May Day!

On the first day of May

we celebrate the coming of summer

spring has already woken up

colour and festivities are to be found

let`s dance and merry today

with bells, stick and ribbons flowing

May Queens in chosen from local girls

and everyone dances around the May Pole

so let`s dance this merry day

all around the countryside

communities celebrate their own way

an Obby-Oss Day in Padstow

Beltane Fire Festival in Edinburgh

everyone dance on this merry day

for spring has arrived

wearing all her colourful glory

bringing fertile lands and livestock

summer is just around the corner

so be happy on May Day!
