Fisher at Sunrise

Silhouetted by the sunrise
as this fisher watches all
perched on a protruding branch
listening to the mornings call

skies ablaze with bright colours
mirrored in the river`s flow
surface ripples from the movement
of marine life that live below

kingfishers are true masters
diving deep into the waters
never missing a sneaky fish
they are excellent spotters

as this powerful bird sits
contemplating all he sees
midst the colours of the dawning
waters ruffled by the breeze

Eyes.....

I see....
a bright set of eyes
watching me
through the dark
wondering
what's out there
so inquisitive
of the world
slowly blinking
at the light...

I hear...
distant eerie noises
claws scratching
on the ground
so hesitant
is there danger
to be found?
hungry to discover
yet nervous
of the world....

I sense...
a deep curiosity
what is lurking
in the dark
contemplating
its every move
testing the air
is it safe
to move outside
into the world......

Unjust Hurt

As a tear rolls down my cheek
total dissolution felt
for my heart`s been ripped in two
after all that I've been dealt

My world`s spinning all around
and confusion has set in
sadly lost my confidence
been let down by friend and kin

For this situation hurts
everything is so unjust
not sure where to turn to now
hope there`s someone I can trust

So as I sit here in tears
unsure for how to proceed
will my heart every be healed
or forever left to bleed...!

Knowing you're still with me....

To hold your hand in mine
walking through life together
then suddenly you were gone
taken away from me for ever

I looked every where for you
but you were no where to be found
sadness engulfed my heart and soul
missing your presence abound

A single small memento
is placed on the window sill
reminds me of what we had
oh I wish you were here still

Our photograph on the wall
a moment in time caught there
for my love, I miss you so
where ever you are, take care!

So I look to the future now
not to have you by my side
instead, you're deep within me
walking with me, every stride!

Kitchen's Closed!

Kitchen is closed today
don't want to cook no more
going to have some fun
not do another chore!

Outside in the sunshine
with many things to see
I'm going to explore
for I want to be free

Maybe I'll go flying
or travel to the west
see what's under water
don't want to sit and rest!

I'm sure you'll understand
me needing time away
tomorrow I'll be back
kitchen is closed today!!

Be Strong....

To get on in life
you need determination
so that you have the right mind set
passion, strength and consideration

To make it in life
your heart must be strong
to cope with everything thrown at you
no matter what happens,  right or wrong

To be the best in life
you must be able to forgive
look others in the eye and show kindness
be caring, compassionate and learn to live!!

To be happy in life
have an open loving heart
be truthful, loving, and kind to others
and treat everyone well, then you've played your part!

Beauty of nature

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
a personal emotion everyone feels
of nature, wonder is so abundant
textures, scent and amazement always appeals

Mother Earth so cunning and versatile
each delicate detail so pleasing to the eye
from tall oak trees to a hidden rose bud
all living things look to the sun high in the sky

Each velvety petal slowly unfurling
tender little bud that explode into flower
revealing this rose in all its full glory
gentle to see, yet its thorns shows its power...

Liars are cruel
forgiveness hard
deliverance
even harder
for deception
can be painful
as lies breed lies
so thick as thieves
what is needed
is a clean slate!
and a new start
