Good Night my child

As darkness descends upon the world
and slumber time is calling
climbing the stairs to say goodnight
tucking you into you comfy bed
wishing you sweet dreams until the morning....!

Outdoor Goodness

To step into the sun light
and feel the warmth upon my skin
absorbing all it`s goodness
let the sun take away my pain ......!

burning off this cold darkness
and hurt that`s dwelt here so long
running free through the grasses
stirs my heart, makes me strong

surrounded by fresh air and sun rays
there`s a smile upon my face
look around at all the wonders
give thanks for this fabulous place !

                                  Weekends...!

Friday has come and gone, the weekend now beckons
a time of peace and relaxation
lazy morning with paper and coffee
lunch with friends, then down the pub
not forgetting the Sunday roast with all the family
my weekends are the best days of the week ...!

Eyes

Windows to the soul
eyes so powerful
 emotions bleeding
seductive and soulful

watching, pleading
expressions revealed
eyes so truthful
a protected shield

hidden through makeup
to hide the emotions
tears that fall freely
rolling down like oceans

passions that pass by
shown for some to see
eyes are the windows
of our souls that flow free!!

Masks of Life

At times throughout life
we have all worn a mask
some happy and jovial
others sad or menacing

we hide behind them
afraid of consequences
uncertain of ourselves
scared we`ll be ridiculed

the stage is our play ground
each mask defines an act
some wear wings and halos
to show their goodness in life

some masks give us courage
to cope with life when we`re hurting
other masks hide our real bad side
so we can`t see who they really are

the Devil lurks back stage
an evil grin across his lips
ready to reap callous mischief
upon the unsuspecting victim

a checkered board upon the floor
arches decorate the wings
detached hands that hold our attention
with items that accumulate

so as we cross the stage of life
with our masks to hide behind
remember that the script can change
and true features are best every time..!

Dancing Inks

My coloured inks
are poised ready
to conjure up images
words with meanings
to instil emotions
make the heart beat faster
or the soul to weep
rainbow kaleidoscopes
racing across the pages
dancing words of joy
to sorrowful laments
these words
these inks
powerful motivators
creating written pictures

love to create images through the power of words

Determination

These feelings of pain and abandonment
seem to be growing stronger and stronger
as everything around me crumbles
to be honest, I can`t take this much longer

for loneliness, I`m told, is solitude
though suffering this pain is not good
so needing to sort my life out now
this is something I know that I should

I will not take any more nonsence
please don`t call me a fool neither
though I`ve been down trodden for years
I`m committed to taking a breather

so shaking off all this doom and gloom
beginning to take stock of my world
I `ll not be trampled under foot again
now standing tall, as my banner`s unfurled

Kelly

Kelly

Our daughter,  a wonderful blessing
such a beautiful treasure to behold
full of laughter and caring warmth
with a thoughtful heart so full of gold

Kelly, you one in a million
for you`re so special in every way
no words can describe the joy we feel
as we celebrate your 40th Birthday
