Here comes the Rain

Here comes the Rain...

As skies darken over head

and clouds roll on in 

there seems a heaviness

as you can feel it begin

these drops of rain are heavy

splashing upon the ground

forming patterns on the path

as they land all around

with skies so foreboding

the darkness felt like night

almost claustrophobic

wow, such an eerie sight

when the flood gates opened

torrential rain poured down

thundering on the roof tops

everything could drown

through this heavy storm

it`s best to remain inside

until this down pours past

by the fireside I`ll hide

Heart`s Storm

 Troubled times and stormy weather have the feeling they go together, ooops that sounds like the start of another poem !!,  Some times a storm clears more than tension in the atmosphere  this poem was one of those times.

Heart`s Storm

The rain is beating on my window pane

beating out the sad tune in my head

for nothing can be said or done

can not change this feeling of dread

drops of rain running down my window

like the stream of tear I`m crying now

wondering what`s happening to me

to end this storm, please tell me how

darkened skies like the blackness I feel

gives a sensation of decaying

going rotten from deep within me

I`m left here bewildered and praying

can this pain subside start to heal?

will the rot cease to eat away my heart?

just like the storm, only time will tell

as it rumbles on tearing the sky apart

Healing Cat

 Pets are amazing creatures and are always there when we are low, unwell or just need some love.  My two cats Bubbles and Squeak just knew when to appear and cheer me up.  I wrote this poem a couple of years ago and though is would be good to share again as today they would of been 18 years old.  They were very much love and sadly missed 💔

Healing Cats

It always amazes me, 

how cats just know our moods

 come and show us love

whenever we need it most

sad news or illness 

they are always nearby

warming up our laps, 

nuzzling us and purring

when we really need it most

they have this sixth sense

that homes in on our needs

and there like a shot

healing us with all their love

cats are amazing animals

they are there when it really counts

I adore my cats.....

My Mum, My Angel

Birthdays are usually happy events but this one get to me each year.  My angel mother was a special person to me, loved her wisdom, sense of humour and the way she laughed.

Mum, enjoy your special day with dad up in heaven.

Just to say "I love you Mum"

would mean the world to me

but since the angels gave you wings

I`ll share my love through poetry

popping round to have a chat

and share with you  a cup of coffee 

we`d sort out the world`s troubles

even though your quite a softie

on this, your birthday mum, 

I`m sending all my love your way

wish I could share a coffee with you

as we celebrate your special day!

Spring is in the Air

I love spring time, it feels like the earth has just woken up from a long sleep.
Everything comes alive and people feel happy when the sun comes out to play.

Spring is in the Air

Look to the future
smile and you will see
that everything is with you
and will be full of glee

sad times are over now
see what can be done
reach to the future
smile and have some fun

joy to behold again
children`s laughter heard
racing round in circles
chasing butterflies, how absurd !

skipping through the grasses
splashing through a puddle
cats prowling, dogs barking
we`re smiling, cos mum`s in a muddle

sunshine in their eyes
a spring in this place
full of the joys of summer
a smile upon their face

the thrills of the season
will bring you loads of fun
with laughter and giggles
peace and love for everyone.
