Wintry Garden

cold white snow covered ground
a wintry scene make a lovely sight
muffled silence felt all around
no movement, not even flight

of all the animal that dwell here
only their foot print can be seen
for since the snow, all disappear
all you can see is where they've been

bare trees stretch up to the sky
towering over this white landscape
gentle mounds now catch one`s eye
where garden features have no escape

frozen pond, like opaque glass
lays half hidden out of view
but this cold season will not last
as new life shall emerge through

so while this winter freezes on
lets enjoy this wondrous sight
and listen to the robins song
while marveling over nature`s plight
