Missed Happiness.

Not a day goes by that I don't think of my
long haired lover from Tennessee
the man I fell for many years ago
who in New Orleans, wanted to marry me!

I let him down when I delayed it all
for with out my kids, it just felt wrong
but sadly now I've lost him to cancer
his battle lost, many regrets linger long

Why is it we push away the good ones
make such bad decisions that hurt so bad
I may never know happiness once again
I'll hold on to memories, however sad
