My special Nan

You were such a special nan
you meant the world to me
always there to make me smile
it was sad to set you free

watching you lose your memories
as you slowly slipped away
all I wanted was to have you back
now I try to remember you before that day

the things you did were noticed
the love you gave held dear
my life was especially lucky
when I knew that you were near

I saw how much you suffered
Alzheimer`s never easy
therefore I`ll say `Dear nan`
you meant the world to me!
