Secluded Sanctuary....

through the woods you will find
paradise a place to unwind

nestled in a small clearing 
silent, yet so endearing

a little wooden chalet 
sweet secluded hide away

while soft snow is falling
a roaring fire is calling

to enter this  sanctuary 
and taste peace momentary

while this wintry storm rages on
I`ll rest until the cold has gone

Sounds of sleigh bells jingling across the sky
As Santa flies by with his reindeers
Naughty children had better behave

Time to sleep so Santa will visit

And in the morn there`ll be surprises galore!

Cosy Evenings

Watching the roaring hot fire

glowing embers from within

crackling as the logs burn

feeling the warmth on our skin

snuggled up on the couch

melting into your arms

mesmerised by the flames

as I fall for your charms

as evening comes to an end

you hold me `til I sleep

nestled warm under the fur

I`m safely in your keep

Positioned by the front door
Uniquely created faces
Mysteriously carved
Pumpkins grinning 
Keeping evil spirits away
It`s Halloween Night
Now let`s trick or treat
Smiles and laughter all around!!

love the way you sit by my side
watching all that I do
scanning my laptop input
so attentive,  just me and you

listening to your gentle purr
as I type my thoughts today
words forming via my cursor
you`re mesmerised all the way

we work so well as partners
for you inspire me to write
so as this day comes to an end
your company is a sheer delight!

Helping Paws

What ever is over there behind the wall

want to know who`s making that sound

lend us a paw and let`s see what`s there

give us a lift, hope it`s not the dog pound!

there they were, one holding up the other

the strain was there for all to see

claws dug in the wood with all their might

two little kittens exploring happily

I kiss your cheek to say good night

and wish you sweet dreams til dawn

sending up a prayer to your Guardian Angel

to wrap you safely in their soft protective wings

until I greet you when you awake tomorrow morn...!

It`s a cat`s life!

Curled up sleepy on the sofa

taking no notice of anyone

dreaming of chasing playful mice

after a great day having fun

climbing trees while eyeing up birds

by the pond trying to catch fish

but best of all racing around

a cat completing every wish

stretching out slowly, then yawning

turning round to get more cosy

cat napping is quite an art form

future`s looking very rosy

Love the life of a cat, three quarters of their life time is sleeping!!

Emotional memories held in trust

Tenderly teasing open the soul

Rhythms flowing through each vein

Yearning to keep each word alive

Deception

To find yourself amidst deception

as your the one that's been deceived

feels like the world is laughing at you

truth has died and now you're aggrieved

When trust is gone, its hard to win back

families come close to falling apart

forgiveness does not come too easy

such sadness rips away at your heart

All these emotions need to be talked through

everything to be laid on the table

honesty is the best for all of us

what's important is a family that's stable

For talking things through with each other

is always the best course of action

from this point, all untruths needs to cease

this family needs some satisfaction

Please take heed with this little poem

will lies hurt someone along the way?

think before you make a decision

so remember that lying doesn't pay
