torn fragments lie in a heap
mangled debris of a shattered life
torn apart by troubling events
all that was loved is stripped away

each memory ripped from a soul
and thrown into the fires of hell
pieces of the heart scattered under foot
never again to be put back together

a shattered life without much hope
this shadow of a person once known
lost for ever in an unforgiving world
caught up in a whirlpool of doom!
