Election Day

We have elections today
not national, just our local

so many colourful ballots

candidates have been vocal

elect Metro and City mayors

not forgetting councillors too

 there`s also one for the police

Commissioner, not sure who?

with so much to take in this time

bombard with policies a plenty

head`s spinning round and round

candidates number over twenty!

stroll down to the polling station

to cast my votes with my own pen

 duty done, and return back home

for next year we`ll do it all again
