With an early start
on this auspicious day
running through the fields
travelling all the way
Seeing the steam rising
off these awesome creatures
from weigh ins and checks ins
this meet has its features
runners and riders
parading for all to see
now down on to the start line
they`re lined up all ready
the staring gun fires
and away they all race
towards the first fence
it`s a real fast pace
The race continues
around the course they go
many fall at the fences
that`s really such a blow
Twice round the track
then up the final furlong
the winners past the line
steady, fast and strong
everyone shouts for joy
thankful cheers and cries
another successful day
the winner get`s the prize
Enjoyed watching the grand national !!
