Moon

It was a wild moon
in its third quarter
shining down so brightly
on flora and mortar

so close to earth
I could almost touch
catch and pocket it
something for me to clutch

trees silhouetted
by this huge round sphere
throwing dark shadows
across the frontier

the great oak standing
black against the big moon
it`s branches spread wide
on a warm night in June

eerily shines the moon
as it follows along
the quiet country lanes
like a big bright gong...!

Moons are awesome, in many different forms during the year.....love them so.!
