Naivety 

I thought naively
that if we talked
things would maybe improve
instead you just walked

was it a waste of time?
I really felt that was so
where do we go from  here
sadly I do not know

you maybe my child
but have little soul
at least not for me
I just don`t feel whole

a new chapter for you
spreading wide your wings
moving through new adventures
it`s a new song he sings

will I be able
to let you fly away
knowing that I have to
I'm dreading the day

for I know it will come
but I have to be mother
my love for you is strong
but you now love another

so I will wish you well
as a mother can only do
experience your life, child
I will always love you!
