Spiralling to heaven

Spiralling 

upwards

to heaven

spinning 

downwards

to the depths

which way is up

which way is down

how do we know

not easy to tell?

frilled patterns

zigzagging

 all the way 

fringed 

by metal lace

swirls and curls

black against white

circling 

along the steps

turning blue

in the light

sheer beauty 

in motion

ever spiralling onwards.
